18-year-old Nigerian girl emerges Best Graduating Student in Miles College, USA

The Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, has produced an 18-year- old Boubini Jones-Wonni, as best graduating student from Miles College, Metropolitan Birmingham, Alabama, United States of America, USA.

Jones-Wonni who was declared by the university authority as best graduating student on May 5, 2018, got her admission in 2014 after making the best result in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE, at the Word of Faith Group of Schools in Abuja and was also the best student at age of 14.

She hails from Arogbo in Ondo State and was one of the children from the Niger-Delta states that sat for a special exam conducted by KAPLAN in Lagos to select the best to study in the university under the PAP, by a former Coordinator and Adviser on the PAP to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Hon. Kingsley Kuku.

She was initially granted admission by the University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA, at age 15 to study Medicine, but could not make it to the school due to late resumption.

She therefore settled for Miles College in Alabama to pursue her first degree in Biology. Born on October 23, 1999, she started her education at Banky’s Private School in Abuja, where because of her intelligence, she was asked to enroll for the common entrance at primary three. She made the best result and was admitted into Word of Faith Group of Schools in Abuja, where she sat for the 2013/2014 SSCE and had an outstanding result with ‘As’ and ‘Bs’ in all her subjects, and was made valedictorian of the year.

She said:

“I want to express my gratitude to God and then to the Federal Government through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, to avail me of this opportunity to gain admission into Miles College in Alabama to pursue my first degree in Biology. “Today, I have successfully completed the programme, I thank God for being with me throughout the programme, and He crowned my effort. I was not expecting this but I thank God.”

Meanwhile, Howard University, Washington D.C, USA, at the weekend granted her admission to study medicine, where she will become a trained neurologist and surgeon soon.

Father brutally kills his six-month-old daughter with a pickaxe after he accused her mother of cheating

Father brutally kills his six-month-old daughter with a pickaxe after he accused her mother of cheating

A six-month-old baby was brutally killed with a pickaxe, allegedly by her own father, after he accused her mother of cheating.

The infant’s father, 27-year-old Lesiba Motsai, appeared on murder charges at the Mookgophong Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo last Friday.

Baby Bonolo’s grieving mother Modjadji Marikhela, 19, has vowed to avenge her daughter’s death if her former partner is released on bail.

“I’m heartbroken and I don’t know what an innocent baby did to him to be slaughtered like an animal. I want him to die. I don’t want to see him again because if he comes I’m going to mobilise the community to kill him,” she said.

Marikhela said she had dumped Motsai after he allegedly physically abused her for three years.

According to Marikhela, the man came to her home in Hlala-Mpsha section on Thursday and asked to see baby Bonolo.

“He said we should go to his place so he can relax with the baby and I agreed. When I was about to leave, his mother requested I leave Bonolo behind because she hadn’t seen her in a long time.

“I then told his mother that my younger sister will come and fetch her before sunset. All of a sudden he started accusing me of cheating. I told him to get lost because, me and him, we were no longer an item,” she said.

Marikhela said Motsai allegedly assaulted her and charged at her with a shoe sewing needle and told her she would never see her baby again. She ran home and asked her 13-year-old sister to fetch her baby.

The younger sister, who witnessed the incident, told Sowetan that when she arrived at Motsai’s house, he was breaking a door open with a pickaxe.

“He was trying to gain access into a room where the baby and his mother were after she had locked him out. He forced the door open and got to Bonolo before me.

“He placed the baby under his armpit and reached out for the shoe needle from his pocket, and stabbed the baby in the head. He then pulled it out and stabbed her again in the stomach,” she said.

The teenager said he then threw the baby on the ground.

“He left the baby on the ground thinking she was dead. He then returned after hearing Bonolo’s desperate cough and came back with a pick and finished her off. Her small intestines were exposed,” the teenager said.

During his court appearance on Friday, Motsai told the court he was angry and frustrated after his baby mama lied to him.

“She said she was going to visit her grandmother’s house at a nearby township but only to find out she went to see her boyfriend.”

Magistrate Frans Mahodi warned Motsai that he was charged with a very serious crime.

“It is inhumane what you did and you can go to jail for very long time,” he said.

Motsai said he was aware of the crime he committed and had been thinking about what he did to baby Bonolo.

“I intend to plead guilty and I am prepared to go to jail for killing my baby,” he said.

Mahodi further advised Motsai to enlist the services of a Legal Aid lawyer to represent him after he insisted he wanted to represent himself.

The court also heard that after killing the baby, Motsai tried to commit suicide by hanging himself but was rescued by community members.

Motsai abandoned his bail application. Mahodi postponed the matter to May 31 for a formal bail application

Kim Kardashian says Tristan Thompson blocked her on social media but she

Kim responded: “Yea, I mean… OK, last time I went on TV and answered some questions about her, I got blocked on social media – and not from Khloé. No, no, no.”

She added: “So, i’m going to… Yes, I’m rooting for her. I’m always rooting for love. I’m always rooting for families.”

The interview Kim granted that led to Tristan blocking her was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

During the interview, Kim said: “Poor Khloé … I don’t even know how to describe it besides it’s just so f**ked up. We really were rooting for Khloé and we still are. She’s so strong and she’s doing the best that she can. It’s a really sad situation all over.”

Spotify removes all of R. Kelly’s songs from its playlists amidst sexual assault allegations

Spotify removes all of R. Kelly

Music streaming service Spotify has removed all R Kelly songs from its own playlists amid sexual assault allegations against him.

R. Kelly’s songs can still be streamed on Spotify, and users can add them to their playlists, but they no longer feature in Spotify’s own mood-based playlists, nor their branded playlists.

The move by Spotify is part of a new content policy being rolled out by the company, which will no longer promote what they describe as “hateful conduct”.

Spotify wrote in a statement: “We don’t censor content because of an artist’s or creator’s behavior, but we want our editorial decisions – what we choose to program – to reflect our values.

“When an artist or creator does something that is especially harmful or hateful, it may affect the ways we work with or support that artist or creator.”

Spotify cited “hatred or violence” based on “race, religion, gender identity, sex, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability” as being liable for policing on the service.

R. Kelly has been accused of running a sex cult where young girls are brain washed and kept against their will. He has also been accused of paedophilia. So far, he has gotten away with this. But people are beginning to call on organisations that work with him to drop him.
