Our kids haven’t gone to school since the sacking of 15 teachers –Village head

The Rugogi community in Igabi Local Governments area of Kaduna State have urged the state government to post teachers to their only primary school which had its 15 teachers sacked months ago.

The News

It has being reported that the community made the request when the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, visited the village

The village Head, Hussaini Zubairu, told the commissioner that their children have not been going to school since the mass sacking of teachers by the state government, which affected the school.

Zubairu explained that only two teachers were posted to the school to replace the 15 sacked ones, adding that the new teachers had since left.

The village head said the school has a population of 2,706 pupils.

Zubairu commended the state government for the rehabilitation of the school and providing desks and chairs as well as teaching aids.

Responding, the commissioner pledged that the government would immediately post teachers to the school but urged the community to take care of the facilities provided for the school

She encouraged youths in the community to serve as volunteers to teach in the primary school to augment the shortfall in teachers.

“If the government should have a structure, the community should be able to take care of it, and we need the support of parents to help the government in achieving its goals in the education sector.”

She urged the pupils to be committed to their studies, be morally upright and set goals for themselves in life.

The commissioner said parents should also support the children to realise their dreams, and support immunisation campaigns and allow their wives go for antenatal care.

Ryan Reynolds has opened up about the touching reason he and wife Blake Lively decided to name their first daughter James.

Speaking to Mr Porter, Ryan revealed they named their first-born after his father James Reynolds – with whom he had a ‘difficult relationship’.

Ryan’s father passed away shortly after their daughter was born, but was able to meet his grandchild before he died.

Speaking about how Blake helped Ryan mend his relationship with his dad, the actor explained: “All family relationships come with some complications. For better or worse, all roads lead to her.”

He added: “At the end of the day, it’s easier to focus on the good stuff than the bad. My father died soon after my daughter was born, but he got to see her, which makes me happy.

Homeless Man Becomes a Millionaire Online

Editor’s Note: The following was an interview conducted between Mark Anastasi and Bryan Haines.

Bryan: How has the internet changed your life?

Mark Anastasi: Back in 2004 I was an unemployed security guard, $12,000 in debt, with no job, no money and nowhere to live.

The Internet allowed me to connect with millions of people, from around the world, that were looking for products to buy!

By applying the marketing strategy suggested to me by my mentor – The Laptop Millionaire – my business took off like a rocket.

Mark’s story is not an isolated incident. There are numerous people who are starting online businesses and making anywhere from a few hundred extra dollars a month to creating full-time income’s on the internet.

Bryan: What techniques did you use back in 2004 to go from zero to $10,000 a month?

Mark Anastasi: I wrote a 70-page ebook on alternative therapies, uploaded it to, and started charging $67 per download. I was driving traffic to the website by spending $15 a day, approximately, on Google Adwords, and getting 200 to 300 visitors a day.

The simple method described above still works today. You can sell digital information products online (including ebooks) and utilize marketplaces like Clickbank, or sell the products directly from your own site. While you can still use Google Adwords as a method to drive traffic, another popular option today is using Facebook advertising.

Bryan: How sustainable was the income from your first project?

Mark Anastasi: That’s the most amazing thing. It peaked in 2007 with $462,000 in ebook sales that year – from a business I spend less than 2 hours a year on, but I still make money every single day, from that ebook and the other 26 ones that I uploaded on

Now, affiliates drive traffic to my websites, and they make 50% of each sale, but it’s completely on autopilot. Twenty-seven streams of passive income.

This is one of the biggest benefits of selling digital information products online. You work once to create the product, upload it, then there are virtually no costs associated with the sales… and it can be virtually automated. Recruiting affiliates and offering them commissions to help generate sales is a great way to reach more people and increase sales.

Bryan: Which of these 32 ways are the most profitable? Which ones work best for you?

Mark Anastasi: Here is the list of 32 strategies that have been proven to work for myself and my students:

  1. Commenting on blogs, forums, Amazon, questions sites, Facebook Pages, YouTube videos (
  2. Twitter, the Twitter JV strategy, and the Twitter Direct Reply strategy
  3. Selling tweets and retweets!
  4. Pay-Per-Post (Blog hijacking strategy, or selling blog posts)
  5. YouTube! (Uploading videos to YouTube, YouTube video hijacking, YouTube advertising)
  6. Giving away viral ebooks that include affiliate links
  7. Selling ebooks on Clickbank
  8. Selling PLR products
  9. Licensing products, bundling them, and selling them!
  10. List building and email marketing!
  1. Solo Ads, Adswaps, and Joint Ventures
  2. Selling gigs on, Buying gigs on, and Fiverr Gig Arbitrage!
  3. Buying & selling web businesses on
  4. Webinars, webinar replays, and joint venture webinars
  5. S.E.O (get your sites ranked on the search engines, and get free search traffic)
  6. Review sites
  7. Blogging
  8. Selling online advertising
  9. Selling Leads! Also: CPA marketing
  10. Local Business Marketing
  11. Buying expired domains that still get traffic!
  12. Outsourcing! hiring outsourcers in the Philippines
  13. E-commerce sites (e.g., bike gear on, etc.)
  14. Membership sites
  15. Facebook Pages (getting thousands of ‘likes’)
  16. Article marketing (e.g.
  17. Selling products on eBay
  18. Selling deals on Groupon & upselling other services! (also: LivingSocial, etc.)
  19. Selling on the Amazon Kindle platforms
Make Your Dream Business a Reality
We’ll email you tips to kickstart your path to entrepreneurship
  1. Web TV shows & uploading content to iTunes!
  2. Pay-per-click advertising (Facebook Ads, Google Ads)
  3. Media buying

There are many, many more ways to make money online, but these are the ones that have been proven to work for my students and me.

While many of these methods still work today, I would emphasize that creating valuable content (in the form of blogging, podcasts, videos, etc.) still work very well, along with seeking out joint venture partners, and doing paid advertising on networks like Facebook and Google.

The most profitable ones are probably WEBINARS, and MEDIA BUYING (this means buying a lot of cheap advertising online, and directing the traffic to highly-converting affiliate offers) .

I know this will sound like hype, but laptop entrepreneurs are making millions of dollars a year just with a laptop and an Internet connection, thanks to these two strategies. It is because these two strategies can afford you the most amount of leverage.

A lot of people make very decent money as well from offering Local Business Marketing services. You can make $30,000+ a month by setting up a company that manages the social media presence, SEO, and other Internet marketing services for business owners.

The strategies that work best for me include list building and email marketing, selling ebooks, and webinars. But then again that is because I enjoy the process of researching and sharing new content.

Bryan: Have you tried all of these techniques?

Mark Anastasi: I’ve tried 21 of the 32 selected strategies myself, but over the years I’ve tried a hundred more that didn’t work!

Simple Ways to Make Money Online

Today, tens of billions of dollars are being exchanged via a multitude of legitimate activities. More and more people are starting their own businesses on the internet and making money online. Some are even turning their online ventures into full-time internet businesses.

Are you ready to turn your passions into profits and start your own online business but not sure where to get started? Let’s take a look at seven ways to make money online that won’t require a lot of time or cut into your regular routine. Think of these options as supplemental sources of income with the potential in some cases to be a whole lot more.

       Starting Your Own Blog

      make money blogging

The first way is one of the most popular ways and easiest ways to make money online… starting your own blog.

You can start your blog around just about any topic that you’re passionate about, but you may want to consider choosing a profitable niche market if you intend to make money with your blog.

Use your blog to share hobbies, thoughts, and passions with others and use your page to make real connections with people. The mechanics are straightforward, and you’ll be able to profit with your blog via online advertising (e.g. Google Adwords), affiliate marketing (see below), and subscriber-based lists to produce a steady stream of income. There are many ways to make money with a blog.

This is one of the fastest ways to get your own piece of “virtual real estate”.

       Affiliate Marketing

      affiliate marketing

Even if you don’t have your own products or services to sell, affiliate marketing gives you a chance to earn strong commissions through a series of one-time sales. Online merchants provide you with an affiliate website (or a simple affiliate tracking link) and marketing support – all you have to do is promote the company with your link via social media, search engines or perhaps ideally your own website or blog (see above).

With all of these methods we’re discussing you’ll want to be sure to build your email list so you can continually follow up with your subscribers and generate additional sales.

The great thing about affiliate marketing is you don’t have to create your own products, you don’t have to provide any customer support, and you don’t have to create your own marketing materials.

All you have to do is pick a profitable market, promote the products as an affiliate and earn a commission anytime a sale is made. Affiliate marketing is one of the fastest and easiest ways to make money online.

       Start Your Own E-commerce Website

      start e-commerce website

Another great opportunity to make money online is with an e-commerce website/store.

This is where you are selling physical products from your website. The most common (and hassle-free) way to do this is via drop shipping; where you simply take the orders on your website and use a third-party source that manufactures and ships the products for you.

They key thing you’ll want to do is focus on one specific niche and be a specialty store that just caters to that market, don’t try to be all things to all people like an

       Online Publishing (E-books)

      publishing ebooks

Regardless of your current occupation and lifestyle, there is probably a book inside of you that’s screaming to get out. Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform has given thousands of people a chance to become published authors and earn money. It may also serve as a way to get noticed by more established and traditional publishers.

Not only can you sell ebooks on platforms like; but you can also sell ebooks directly from your own website as well. This allows you to sell your ebooks at higher prices and get all of the profits.

You can also repackage multiple ebooks into larger “packages” or use the ebooks as a foundation to sell higher-ticket online courses or even coaching and consulting services.

Publishing ebooks is a great way to make passive income, grow into bigger projects, and establish your authority as an expert in your market.

With simple to use tools, access to outsourcing graphics, cover design, etc. anybody can self-publish a book and have the same professional presence and credibility as a big publishing house.

       Online Surveys

      online surveys

Online surveys are one of the easiest ways to earn extra cash. Brand name corporations and market research firms are desperately seeking people’s opinions on products and services and will offer good remuneration for it. Depending on their complexity, each survey can be worth five, ten or more dollars.

There are many reputable survey companies to choose from, but you may want to limit yourself to 3-5 in the beginning. Stick with the survey companies that give you plenty of surveys to take and pay a decent amount and stop using the services that don’t end up being worth your time.

You also want to avoid illegitimate companies; as this field is widespread with scam opportunities that will take a lot of your time and pay you very little money or even scam you out of your money.

       Online Freelancing

      freelance writing

If you have specific writing/journalism skills or are adept in various IT/software domains, freelancing may prove to be a lucrative source of secondary income. Increasingly, companies are implementing a content marketing strategyand turning to outside sources for specific assignments, and if you can prove your worth there will be more work available. Even simple skills like data entry may be to your liking, provide you can offer at least 5-10 hours weekly.

All you need is a computer with an Internet connection and the desire to build a respectable clientele. Chances are that these opportunities will allow you to gain valuable experience and skills that will prove valuable in your existing business and professional career.

If you’re already writing ebooks in a particular niche market (see above) then why not make your services available for other companies; as you already have the expertise to take on the niche writing assignments.

       Coaching and Consulting Online

      online coaching and consulting

With the low cost of communication and technology, you can connect with anyone around the world.

If you’re already making money selling information online via Kindle books, affiliate marketing, or your own information products as mentioned above then you definitely have the opportunity to add coaching and consulting online as a source of revenue.

This isn’t nearly as scary is it sounds if you’ve never done it before. Most people who are buying from you would love the opportunity to speak with you to answer specific questions and get personalized advice.

With tools like Skype, video conferencing, and webinar technology you can offer one-on-one calls, group coaching calls, and small mastermind meetings.

A simple Kindle book or ebook sale can lead to a high-end client who wants to pay to work with you one-on-one.

      Start Your Online Business Today!

Think about it, making money online is surprisingly easy once you set your mind to specific income goals. Ideally, the activities that you choose to engage in are fun, exploit your talents and interests, are worthy of your time, and offer fair compensation.

As the Internet continues to evolve, opportunities to earn supplementary and full-time online income will grow. The very definition of work in an information-based economy is evolving, with traditional full-time jobs disappearing in favor of different arrangements (e.g. self-employment, flexible schedules, changing skill sets, etc.). In this respect, giving it a try can open up new career and business options.

Khloe Kardashian wants to marry Tristan Thompson

Khloe Kardashian wants to marry Tristan Thompson “eventually”.

The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star’s partner was seen kissing another woman just days before Khloe gave birth to their daughter True but she gave him another chance and she is “happier and happier every day”.

A source told People magazine: “She is doing great. She seems happier and happier every day … She wants her family to be together … He has been very apologetic. Khloé wants to get married eventually, but there are no serious wedding talks yet.

“She does talk about a future with Tristan, though. She believes they can figure things out and have a happy life together. True is doing great, too. And Kris [Jenner] is so proud of all her grandkids. She constantly shows pictures of all the babies.”

Khloe’s sister Kim Kardashian West recently admitted she was “rooting” for the pair and hopes that they would reconcile.

She said: “I’m always rooting for her. I’m always rooting for love. I’m always rooting for families.”

Despite Kim’s optimism, it was previously reported that members of Khloe’s family – which also includes brother Rob Kardashian – and close friend circle were shocked by her decision to forgive Tristan.

Sources said that the family were hopeful that Khloe would “move on” from Tristan but remain civil for the sake of their child. However, they respect Khloe’s decision to rekindle the romance and support the relationship, if it’s what Khloe wants.

Khloe hints at trouble in her relationship with Tristan

Khloe Kardashian has hinted that there is trouble in her relationship.

The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has fuelled speculation that things aren’t going too well with Tristan Thompson as she sent a card to her sister Kim Kardashian West for her wedding anniversary and signed it from herself and True.

Kim shared a picture of the card, which read: “Happy anniversary Kimye [Kim and her husband Kanye West]. Love always wins!! Love KoKo and True. (sic)”
Khloe and Tristan hit a rough place recently after the basketball star was pictured  getting close to another woman whilst she was pregnant.

A source said of their relationship recently: “Of course she has always thought she would get married again and wanted that with Tristan, but any conversation or plans have been put to a halt and are not even a discussion. Now that she has made a decision to spend more time in Cleveland, Khloe and Tristan are trying to repair their relationship one day at a time.”

However, a separate insider claims Khloe is “happier and happier every day” and wants to marry Tristan one day.

They said: “She is doing great. She seems happier and happier every day … She wants her family to be together … He has been very apologetic. Khloé wants to get married eventually, but there are no serious wedding talks yet. She does talk about a future with Tristan, though. She believes they can figure things out and have a happy life together. True is doing great, too. And Kris [Jenner] is so proud of all her grandkids. She constantly shows pictures of all the babies.”

JLo and A-Rod! Gwen and Blake! Celebs Cheer on the Patriots and Eagles at the Super Bowl

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood supported some of the biggest names in sports at Sunday’s Super Bowl LII.

As the New England Patriots got ready to square off against the Philadelphia Eagles at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, famous faces were spotted in the crowd.

Among the stars seen so far? Philadelphia native and Eagles superfan Bradley Cooper, who was seen heading into the stadium ahead of the big game. The 43-year-old star famously brought his Eagles fandom to his character in the 2012 film Silver Linings Playbook, and narrated a series of pre-Super Bowl videos for the team in green earlier this week.

Golden State Warriors basketball player Stephen Curry was seen in the crowd, as was former Vice President Joe Biden — who shook hands and posed for photos with HQ trivia host Scott Rogowsky.

Pennsylvania native Miles Teller, 30, was on the field before the game too, posing in his Eagles gear and chatting with Cooper. Groupon spokesperson Tiffany Haddish shared a shot of herself on Instagram, calling out pal Kevin Hart who was also at the game.

It was also couples night for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez and Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton — two couples who were captured by the NBC cameras.

Other stars included J.J. Watt and girlfriend Kealia Ohai; National Anthem singer Pink and her daughter, Willow; Floyd Mayweather, Jr.; Elizabeth Banks; Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg; Tom Brady‘s wife, Gisele Bündchen; and New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola’s girlfriend, Olivia Culpo.

Sean “Diddy” Combs beat back the 2-degree temperatures with a brown fur coat.

Dax Shepard was all smiles on the field, posing with the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders.

Justin Timberlake will headline the Pepsi Halftime show, where he’s expected to perform a slew of hits from his nearly 20-year musical career.

This will be the third time the 37-year-old singer has performed at the Bowl. He and former boy band ‘NSYNC joined a star-studded lineup (including Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly) in 2001. And in 2004, Timberlake took the stage with Janet Jackson to perform “Rock Your Body,” which ended in the infamous wardrobe malfunction dubbed “nipplegate.”

Super Bowl LII is airing live on NBC.

Kim Slams Rob For ‘Frustrating’ Blac Chyna Drama: ‘He Should Have Controlled Himself’

kim-kardashian-skincare-1521489049‘This is escalating to a place that none of us could have ever imagined,’ adds Khloe.

The explosive meltdown between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chynahits home on Sunday’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and has a special sneak peek!

As fans know, baby Dream’s parents are embroiled in a massive legal battle, with Chyna accusing the Kardashian clan of sabotaging the second season of Rob & Chyna.

On the next KUWTK, sisters Kim and Khloe discuss the feud.

“Did you see how I just like went off on Rob in our group text? I couldn’t take it,” Kim tells Khloe.

“Listen, there’s a plus and a minus. One of the plus of all this there’s no way Rob and Chyna could get back together after this, right? Let’s focus on the positive,” Khloe replies. “The negative is all of this other s**t right now.”

“The negative is just that like as Rob having sisters, he should just know better. He should have just like controlled himself,” Kim adds.

Later, in her confessional, Khloe went into more detail.

“So Rob and Chyna have officially broken up, but they obviously still have to communicate for the custody of Dream,” she explained. “They’re still having a hard time getting along. The legal battle that has been going on between the two of them has been super frustrating. I feel like this is escalating to a place that none of us could have ever imagined.”

As the war goes on, it’s clearly taking a toll on the entire family.

“But it just sucks, like he’s made out to be this bad guy when she’s taunting him,” Khloe told Kim. “Like love makes you do f**ked up things. You think anyone’s proud of that? No. You don’t f**k with someone’s heart and emotions.”

Check out Ben Affleck’s new Pad he got for $19m

Pacific Palisades, Calif.
$19.25 million
12,853 square feet, 7 bedrooms, 7 full and 2 half bathrooms plus guesthouse

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Word on the celebrity real estate street, via gossip juggernaut X17, is that Ben Affleck is in escrow and about to seal the deal on a brand spanking new, never lived in East Coast style mansion in Pacific Palisades, Calif., first listed at $20.5 million and last listed with a $19.25 million price tag. The stately, black-shuttered, white brick residence sits behind gates on not-quite one-third of an acre in the tony Riviera neighborhood where it desirably backs up to but doesn’t sit high enough to overlook the Riviera Country Club with seven bedrooms and six full and two half bathrooms in 12,853-square-feet plus an approximately 600-square-foot poolside guesthouse.

Elegantly proportioned public spaces include: a grand, double-height classic center hall entry with sweeping curved staircase; a living room anchored by stylishly unadorned black marble fireplace under a coffered ceiling; a dining room that easily seats a dozen; and a wood-paneled study/library with wet bar. Equally roomy family quarters stretch along the east-facing rear of the residence and include a family room with white marble fireplace. A bank of glass panels slip into the walls to merge the space with a deep, stone-paved loggia and steel-trimmed glass pocket doors divide the family room from a large kitchen fitted and kitted with chatoyant jet black countertops on dourly sophisticated dove grey cabinetry and every culinary bell and whistle money can buy. There’s a four-stool snack bar at the double wide island along with a breakfast bay and a cozily scaled neighboring den or potential staff bedroom has French doors to the yard.

An ample trio of family bedrooms and a children’s family room are joined on the second floor by a celebrity-style master suite replete with sitting area, two elaborately fitted walk-in closets and two marble-sheathed bathrooms while an extensive basement, finished to the same exacting standards as the upper floors, offers a private haven of recreational and leisure amenities including a lounge/games room with walk-in wet bar and a climate controlled wine cellar, a state-of-the-art 12-plus seat screening room, a mirror-walled fitness studio and a secluded staff suite.

A broad, partly covered terrace runs the full width of the back of the house with an outdoor kitchen at one end and an outdoor fireplace at the other. A verdant, soccer pitch sized sweep of newly sodded lawn stretches out to a privatizing row of freshly planted mature trees and a tile-floored poolside guesthouse includes a bathroom and separate kitchen.

Presumably Affleck’s estranged wife Jennifer Garner remains in residence at the by-all-appearances amicably split former couple’s sprawling compound perched on a high ridge overlooking Mandeville Canyon in Pacific Palisades they bought in March 2009 for $17.55 million from Hollywood power player Brian Grazer. The compound is conveniently just a mile from Affleck’s new digs. The two-time Oscar-winning screenwriter, producer and titular star of several “Batman” films, has long been rumored in the property gossip columns to be apartment hunting in New York City where, as of late last year, he shared a spendy rental in a fabled and famously expensive building on Central Park West with his girlfriend, “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus, and he continues to own a secluded, plantation style residence of nearly 7,000-square-feet along Blackbeard Creek near Riceboro, Ga., he picked up in 2003, while dating Jennifer Lopez, for $7.11 million.

Kim Kardashian Gets in Bitter Twitter Feud Over Kanye West’s Charity, Donda’s House

Kim began the tweets, “Let me break this all the way down…” She followed up with, “Kanye and Donda started a charity called Loop Dreams. When Donda passed, they changed the name to Donda’s House. Kanye paid Rhymefest a salary to run it.”

“After several years of lack of performance from the organization and Kanye going through personal financial issues, he could no longer fund salaries. Rhymefest asked to take it over and Kanye agreed with no financial strings attached,” continued Kim. “Kanye gave his ‘friend’ an opportunity to run an organization on his own. So now that Kanye is being publicly shamed for not being involved makes no sense and, at this exact time, just seems very calculated.”

The mogul continued, “I have and will always applaud any efforts to give back to the community. To fight for justice and to help uplift the youth. But I will never tolerate someone who was close to Kanye who attempts to use his late mother’s name to publicly shame him while pretending to do good.

She ended the string of tweets, “I will always ride for my man!”

Once again, Kim Kardashian is standing by her man after rapper Rhymefest and the Donda’s House organization took to social media to say that her husband Kanye West has not given the organization the financial support promised, “despite multiple attempts.” And that’s when things got ugly…

The whole feud began yesterday when Rhymefest tweeted at Drake, who just released a Kanye diss track on Friday, for assistance for the city of Chicago, saying that Kanye West had “abandoned” the Windy City and seemingly his non-profit organization, Donda’s House, which helps bring arts to disadvantaged youth and is named after his beloved late mother Donda West.

“I’m asking @Drake to help the part of Chicago Kanye has Abandoned! Please contact @DondasHouse,” wrote the disgruntled rapper.

After Donda’s House’s twitter was flooded with questions, the organization released tweeted a statement, asking that in light or Kanye’s recent inflammatory remarks and subsequent boycotts of the rapper, that patrons and supporters “not penalize or throw away their support, respect or advocacy” for the organization.

The statement also made a serious claim, “As we seek to support to convert Kanye’s childhood home into a recording studio, museum and learning space—we have been unable to secure the financial support of Kanye despite multiple attempts and despite those early conversations about his plan of support and advocacy of the youth in our programs.”

And that’s when Kim jumped in, once again defending the father of her three children…

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star added, “I saw you at our studio a few weeks ago so why didn’t you bring this up then @RHYMEFEST ? You were trying to get Kanye to listen to your sub par beats. You have the audacity to use Kanye’s mom name to try to shead a negative light on Kanye [sic].”

Kim added, “You better believe I will make it my mission to take Donda’s House from you and let my children run it the way it should be run! @RHYMEFEST.”

The 37-year-old star, whose children are 4-years-old, 2-years-old and 4-months-old, ended the tweet storm by writing, “Sorry to all of my followers for flooding my timeline I know you have no idea who Rhymefest is.”

Following the feud, the organization released a statement last night letting people know that they would be dropping the name “Donda’s House.”

The statement, released via Twitter, read, “Due to recent events have occurred over the last 48 hours, we have decided to no longer use the name Donda’s House Inc. This has been an incredibly difficult decision but the social media quotes from Kim Kardashian West, as well as the expressed interest of her family running the organization, has brought us to this decision.”

Meanwhile, Kanye has been silent on his Twitter.

Lil Uzi Vert staked his claim to be “the last living rockstar” at his chaotic sold-out London show.

During what was surely a riotous show in Sydney back in February, a 23-year-old rapper from Philadelphia reportedly had the audacity to proclaim that he was “the last living rockstar”.

It’s a statement that will no doubt wind up the rock establishment and beyond, but it’s 2018: why can’t the ascendant and whimsical Lil Uzi Vert consider himself to be a rockstar? A Grammy-nominated, septum ring-wearing, -worshipping artist, he commands the attention of 4.48 million people on Twitter, has racked up hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify, and has been referenced by both Jay-Z and Lana Del REy. If anything, Uzi’s certainly not someone we should be overlooking in terms of ascertaining which artists are having the biggest influence over music today.

After rising to the top of the SoundCloud hype machine in 2015 and signing a record deal with Atlantic, Lil Uzi Vert – who picked up his rap moniker after someone told him that he rapped “like a little Uzi” – achieved something close to attaining superstar status just as 2017 rolled around. First off, he appeared on Migos’ world-conquering hit , before he then released his well-received debut studio album, the emo-hop ‘Luv Is Rage 2’, in August. On it features heady, approval-giving contributions from The Weeknd and Pharell as well as his huge magnum opus of a single ‘XO Tour Llif3’.

Uzi has also earned a reputation in recent years for his chaotic live shows, which typically feature a deluge of circle pits and stage dives– evidence of a ruthless streak which no doubt endears him to his legions of young fans.

And, with a sold-out show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on the itinerary of his 16*29 tour, last night (April 10) felt like a perfect acid test for Uzi’s budding rockstar credentials. Practically bouncing onto the sparse Brixton stage in and blue motorbike gloves after being introduced by his touring DJ PForReal, the screams around the venue are deafening – so much so that it’s hard to hear Uzi on the mic for the first five minutes of the show.

Tracks from ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ take precedence, with ‘444+222’ lighting the touchpaper in the standing section as limbs, sweat and clothes go flying in the heaving mosh pit. Uzi loves it, alternating between giving the crowd devil horns, orchestrating mosh pits and doing as fans from the balcony to the front row struggle to keep check of their emotions. It’s pretty hard not to get swept up in all the excitement, with NME spotting one bouncer trying his absolute best to stay professional by resisting the urge to sing along to ‘Sauce It Up’.

“There’s a lot of people hating on Lil Uzi,” the rapper tells the crowd during a rare pause in proceedings. “Due to the fact that I’m the best in the world and have all the money!” Bolshy, on-stage claim befitting of a rockstar? Tick.

It was this moment that apparently brought his manchester gig last weekend to a premature end after the crowd failed to return the microphone, but – with the hope that no-one got konked out by the falling mic, of course – tonight it proves to be another one of those euphoric, what-the-fuck moments that have become synonymous with an Uzi show.

Just 50 minutes into his allotted 105 minutes on stage, Uzi – who spends the final 10 minutes of the show mostly zipping around the stage and only occasionally rapping over the backing track – delivers one final call-and-response (“When I say ‘Uzi’, you say ‘London’”) before he then drops the mic, drinks up one final serving of the rapturous acclaim from his audience and departs the stage.

Have we been short-changed? Not at all – all good rockstars know to leave their fans wanting more.

That introduction preceded an airing of the 2016 track ‘Ps & Qs’, which jostles for room in a packed setlist with the likes of ‘7am’, weepy break-up ballad ‘The Way Life Goes’ and the aforementioned Pharrell collaboration ‘Neon Guts’ – which glistens almost as much as Uzi’s choice of on-stage screen projections, which depict an array of garish colours, dancing skeletons and, naturally, Uzis.

There’s one rather extraordinary moment towards the end of the show where, upon requesting that DJ PForReal cue up ‘XO Tour Llif3’ for the second time in 10 minutes, Uzi decides to open the floor up for a spot of mid-gig karaoke – and he lets us know of that decision by quite literally throwing his microphone high into the air before it falls slap-bang into the middle of the standing section.

Igwe noble directly blasting Lola rae on having a baby with Tekno

Tekno had on Saturday, May 26, announced that he welcomed a daughter with his boo, singer Lola Rae. Tekno even took to his Instagram page to declare his love for Lola after she gave him a baby girl. Rae has been missing from the spotlight throughout the duration of her pregnancy thus wading off rumours and unpleasant story about her state. It seems what Lola tried to guide against during pregnancy she is getting now as social media celebrity Noble Igwe is shading the two lovebirds, Lola and Tekno.

Igwe took to his Twitter handle to throw shades at the new parents. He wrote: “He made you stay away from your music to have a baby but he stayed back to push his hustle. #life” But fans the new parents have taken time to give Igwe back in his own coin.

FG, Osun to discuss N29.2bn reimbursement

The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Hassan Suleiman, has said that the Federal Government will need to reach an agreement with the Osun State Government before the state will be repaid the funds expended on the reconstruction of the Gbongan/Akoda road and the overhead bridge at Gbongan junction.

The minister said this while inspecting the road project as well as the Federal Secretariat and Federal Housing Project in Abere; and the Ilobu Road and Ojutu Bridge at the home town of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Lasun Yusuf.

He said that the state government got an approval from the Federal Government before embarking on the construction of the road, but added that the evaluation of the project would have to be done before refund could be effected.

“The cost of the projects would be passed to the Federal Government for evaluation and certain agreements will be reached before the inspection of the projects,” the minister stated.

Defending the need for the overhead bridge across the Ife/Ibadan Expressway at Gbongan junction, Suleiman said the bridge was built by the Osun State Government in order to reduce accidents at the spot.

The minister gave an assurance that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would ensure the completion of all the federal projects going on in the state and other parts of the country in order to make life better for the people.

Suleiman commended the contractor for the quality of job and progress made at the Federal Housing Project site in Abere, while urging him to keep it up.

While inspecting the Federal Secretariat, the minister called on the contractor handling the project to ensure the quick completion.

Suleiman said the Federal Government had approved the upward review of the project cost from N2.5bn to N2.6bn, but charged the contractor to ensure that the project was completed without any further delay.

Osun State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Kazeem Salami, had earlier told the minister that the Gbongan-Akoda Road was awarded on March 13, 2013 at N29.2bn and that it was supposed to be completed in December 2014, but was extended to December 2019 due to paucity of funds.

The Project Coordinator at the Federal Secretariat, Mrs. Oyinlola Onwubalili, stated in the situation report she gave that the contract was awarded on December 9, 2011 at the sum of N2,548,444, 283.80, adding that the original site was within Ede community.

She explained that the project was relocated due to protests from the Osogbo community and it was taken to its present location at Oke Baale along Ibokun Road, adding that the relocation caused a delay.

Onwubalili added that the project would be completed in nine months if the current pace of work was maintained.

American Rapper, Diddy hails Falz

Ever since Childish Gambino released his viral single/video, “This is America”..

Other artistes and content creators have since made a cover/parody of the video…

One of whom is Nigerian Singer, Falz, who titled his, “This is Nigeria”.

Mirroring the concept used by the American musician/filmmaker born Donald Glover, Falz, who’s also a multi-faceted entertainer, used his song to address a number of societal issues in Nigeria.

The video which was released late on Friday was received with widespread acclaim, and criticism from some quarters, largely due to the topical issues highlighted in it.

Reacting to the video which has since gone viral, Diddy, owner of Revolt TV and Bad Boy Records, posted a short clip on his Instagram page.

While acknowledging the Nigerian rapper/comic-actor, he wrote: “#Nigeria LETS GO!”

‘This is Nigeria’ was produced by Wande Thomas and the video was directed by Prodigeezy.

On the song, Falz raps about the menace of Fulani herdsmen, codeine epidemic among Nigerian youth, the much-panned special anti-robbery squad (SARS), internet fraud also known as ‘yahoo yahoo’, the Chibok and Dapchi schoolgirls abduction.
