”President Buhari will hand over to PDP on next democracy day” party national chairman, Uche Secondus, predicts

National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, says he is very certain that next year democracy day, President Buhari will hand over power to PDP.

In a statement released and signed by his media aide, Ike Abonyi, Secondus said Nigerians are anxiously looking forward to the opportunity to dispense the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and bring PDP back to power. The statement in part reads

“If Democracy must survive in our country we must do away with APC and Nigerians are ready and willing to do just that because they cherish democracy as the best form of government.

Going by their poor record of performance in the last 36 months, and the determination of Nigerians to put the country in the right footing, this is the last Democracy Day this President will mark. Their agenda now is to intimidate, harass and scare opponents to create a Police state with the aim of turning the country into one party state but it must be resisted by Nigerians who passed similar road before and came out victorious.

The next Democracy Day May, 29, 2019 which Nigerians and indeed all lovers of democracy are anxiously looking forward to would be the smooth transition from confusion and purposeless governance to real democracy which the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is returning to gift to the Nation” he said

41-year old father remanded in prison for defiling his 4 daughters in Port Harcourt

41-year old father remanded in prison for defiling his 4 daughters in Port Harcourt

Michael Akpan-Isaiah, a 41-year-old man has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly defiling his four daughters. The minors are aged between two and 17 years. Isaiah, from Akwa Ibom State, allegedly committed the offence between April and May at Borokiri Sand Field, Port Harcourt.

The charge reads: “That you, Michael Akpan Isaiah, sometime in April, 2018, did have unlawful carnal knowledge of (name withheld) without her consent That you, Michael Akpan Isaiah, sometime in May, 2018, did have unlawful carnal knowledge of (name withheld) aged 7 years old.” The accused admitted committing the crime, but claimed he was manipulated.

But a Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA) representative, Fortune Ada Ndah, dismissed the claims and told the court that he carried out the act in his right senses.

She alleged that the incest had been going on even before the two-year-old he also defiled was born. “The accused has been forcefully sleeping with his daughters for the past three years,” Ndah added.

Chief Magistrate Zinnah Alikor described the act as an abomination, saying it was wicked and devilish. She blamed the mother for encouraging incest by not having a close relationship with her children. Alikor declined jurisdiction on the charge and ordered that the original case file be sent to the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice. She ordered the remand of the accused in prison custody and adjourned the matter sine dine.

Addressing reporters after the sitting, Ndah said: “Medical diagnosis conducted on the children showed they have been defiled. FIDA is not happy about this irresponsible act of a man to his daughters. We will ensure the matter is prosecuted to act as a deterrent to others.”

The victims’ mother said she reported to her in-laws when she first noticed the amorous relationship between her husband and their daughters, but lamented that no action was taken. She alleged that her husband threatened and beat her and the children up anytime they complained.

Minimum Wage N18,000. Nigerian Jersey N41,000 so how are we going to support the Super Eagles when the price of the Jersey is higher than minimum wage.

BFG@THISISBFG

Considering the price of the new Super Eagles jersey, it seems smarter to cop the original 1994 one that’s been going around and claim nostalgia value tbh.

Nigerians when they hear the price of the unreleased Super Eagles Nike jersey:

Babanla@biolakazeem

A 41k price point for a Super Eagles jersey shows clearly why we would never have lucrative kit deals for our National teams. At that price, uptake will be be extremely poor & NFF will not have leverage when negotiating. The biggest winners in this are the guys making knock offs.

Offa bank robberies: Dismissed police officer admits to killing over 20 persons, gives reason why he ensured he killed policemen

Offa bank robberies: Dismissed police officer admits to killing over 20 persons, gives reason why he ensured he killed policemen

The dismissed Corporal turned leader of the armed robbery gang that attacked commercial banks in Offa, Kwara State on April 5th, Michael Adiku has given reasons why he killed over 20 persons including police officers during the robbery incident.

Speaking with detectives after his arrest, Adikwu said he deliberately killed the policemen that day because he has scores to settle with the system that dismmissed him from service.

The Nation reports that Adikwu, a Corporal attached to the Kwara State unit of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), was dismissed after he was accused of freeing suspected armed robbers. He was later charged to court and sent to prison, where he spent three years. Upon his release, he formed the robbery gang that attacked the banks.

A police source who is part of operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT), said

“Adikwu, while in prison, had been threatening to the hearing of other inmates, that he would kill as many policemen as possible once he had the opportunity. He said that since police dismissed and made him go to prison because he released armed robbers that he too would deal with the police. He was the organiser of the robbery. He recruited other members and they had series of meeting while planning the attack. The gang went to Offa three times on surveillance mission. The police station and banks were carefully studied. Adikwu led three others into the police station, while others stayed outside. They walked into the station as if they wanted to lodge a complaint with their pistols concealed under their clothes. Immediately they entered, Adikwu said he shot the station guard he killed nine policemen at the station and carried their rifles. The suspects confessed that they took Tramadol and other hard drugs before embarking on the operation. Over 30 people were killed that day and Adikwu said he personally killed over 20. One of those he went into the police station with was Arrow (Kunle Ogunleye). They took those at the station by surprise and opened fire immediately they entered. The attack on the police station was a vendetta led by the dismissed policeman. After the operation, he went to each of the banks which were being robbed to issue orders. He was captured on CCTV shouting at his members, telling them what to do and what not to do.” the source said

Continuing, the source said Ogunleye told them he did not fire any shot at the police station, adding that he killed about two people during the bank robbery.

“He said It was Adikwu that shot and killed all the policemen. He went from one office to the next, killing everyone. They only gave him cover.”

Another arrested suspect, Abel, the source said, confessed to killing five people, adding that he also sprayed bullets indiscriminately that injured many others.

Football financier arrested for shaving teenagers’ pubic hair (photo)

Football financier arrested for shaving teenagers? pubic hair (photo)

The Lagos state police command has arrested the financier of Magico Football Academy Agege, Victor Achidume, 43, for allegedly shaving the pubic hair of five teenage boys.

Achideume was arrested after one of the students fell ill and informed his parents that their financier had shaved his armpit and private part on May 9th after warning him and others not to tell anyone.

“We do not belong to his team. We met him during a football match and he invited us to his house. He used to talk about football to us and he used to dash us N100 or N200. He told us to be coming to his house every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I went with my friends the first time. He asked me if I had shaved my armpit and private part before and I said no. And then, he shaved it. He was talking about football as he was doing it. Then, he said I should not tell anyone and that I should be coming to his place to collect N100.” Oluwaseun said

Another child, Oluwadare Ifeoluwa, 15, affirmed Oluwaseun statement

“The man used to give us money every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. When we come, he will tell some people to come Tuesday and Thursday. The first day he saw me, he asked my name and about three weeks later, he asked me if I was at puberty stage. I said no. He said he wanted to check it and when he checked it, he asked if I have shaved it before. I said yes I have. So, he said I should not worry. But my friends said they have not shaved before. The man shaved Oluwaseun Salaudeen’s hair six times and he shaved Damilare’s armpit twice. He told us that no one should know he usually asked such questions. We are not in his academy. His house is at Alagba Estate.” he said

When interrogated, Achidume denied the allegation.

“These kids are not even in my team. They have never been to my house. I used to throw money to them from the balcony. They used to complain that their parents do not give them money for food and that they do not buy books for them. It is untrue that I took them into my house. I play with my team on Saturdays. I do not see them during week days because I go to work. I told the mothers of these children that I have three kids and that if I did anything wrong to their children, let me lose mine before my eyes. But, if I did not, their children will die before their eyes. The women should tell their children to confess how all these came about. The children are here, do they look like people losing weight? How can someone just raise false allegation against me to ruin my life? I manage over 80 kids through my coach and no one has ever complained of such about me. They have disgraced me but the God that I serve will vindicate me. I do not know why they did this but I believe God knows best. Life is mysterious and this is a mystery only God can unravel.”

However, the complainant, through a petition, sought the intervention of the Commission when he became suspicious of the transaction, a development that eventually led to the arrest of the suspected fraudsters.

The suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
