Despite being a top musician , rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefu, aka Vector, has decided to perform free at this year ’s Make Music Lagos , which is a rare gesture by Nigerian artistes .
While speaking with Punch , he said when the organisers of the annual music event , which holds on June 19 to 24 reached out to him, he thought it was another case of fraud or deceit .

He stated , “Do you know how many people who claimed to do free projects and you would discover later that they made money? When I was contacted, I didn ’t understand why I should do a free show . After I read through their emails and we started a conversation , they won my trust. Though I will not be paid as an artiste , I was told there would cater for logistics. But the fact that I am ready to do a free show does not mean other top artistes will do the same .”
Another factor that made the rapper to embrace the project, according to him , is the global appeal . Make Music Day is held in more than 120 countries all over the world to commemorate World Music Day .
Vector said , “The event will be part of history a few years later. It feels awesome being part of the project because I have always advocated for musicians operating for a global audience . Even if we sing in Yoruba language , I believe you should make music for everyone. In the barracks where I grew up , my mother ’s best friend , a northerner, loved listening to Sir Shina Peters, who is a Yoruba man .”
One of the artistes also billed to perform, Johnny Drille , said since this year ’s venue had been moved to Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island , Lagos , there would be more freedom of expression.
“The organisers must have learnt from the previous editions too ; so , it makes them better . More artistes are expected to perform this year also .
“For me, however , last year was amazing , it was held at the Balmoral Hall , Federal Palace Hotel , Victoria Island , Lagos . I loved the fact that the sound system was better than the first edition in 2016, ” the Mavin Records singer added .
Make Music Lagos is an annual music event organised by Showgear Limited . After holding some activities during the week , the grand finale event will take place on Sunday, June 24 , at Muri Okunola Park .

Pete Davidson Says Engagement to Ariana Grande Is Beyond His Wildest Dreams

Pete Davidson is kicking off the weekend with a touch of romance.

On Friday afternoon, the Saturday Night Live star took to Instagram where he posted a photo with his fiancé Ariana Grande.

What came next was a short, but oh-so-sweet photo caption that symbolized the couple’s strong bond.

“U know what you’d dream it be like ?” he shared with his 1.4 million followers while showcasing Ariana’s new engagement ring. “It’s better than that.”

Ariana would later reply “so much better” with a heart emoji. And for those counting, the comment already received 14,000 likes in two hours.

It’s been a big week for the couple after their engagement news went public on Monday. And while details about the proposal remain top-secret, the pair hasn’t been hiding their love for each other.

Soon after news broke of the couple’s engagement, the pair enjoyed a magical trip to the Disneyland Resort where they were spotted on Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and other attractions.

And between all the celebrations, Ariana has been able to release a new song and appear at The Songwriters Hall of Fame 49th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in New York City.

“I cant believe my life rn tbh,” Ariana tweeted early Friday morning. ‘If i’m dreaming pls knock me the f–k back out.”

And while the couple’s life may appear to be extraordinary at times, both Ariana and Pete have their  normal moments as well. Just look at Ariana’s Instagram Stories where she documented Pete’s trip to the barber.

“Someone’s excited for his haircut,” she wrote in a picture.

Hot Slap Saga: Actress Nkechi Apologizes To Juliet Ibrahim For Calling Her An Idiot

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday got into a fight with actress Juliet Ibrahim after the former got a very hot slap from Comedian, Arole during a movie.

The very hot slap was so real that it made her forget her lines making her to beg the Director of the movie to ‘cut’.

Not long after, she shared the video and her reaction on Instagram and Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim commented on the post saying Nkechi should not have stopped the Director.

According to her, stopping the shoot means she would have to take the slap one more time,

I’d rather endure, and after the scene, I’ll go and cry.”, Juliet said

However, Nkechi replied;

With dis kind of slap,Den one Idiot said am not suppose to cut d Director Because am a professional?…Aunty better don’t even come near me Slap that left me deaf for 10mins @officialarole I love you Still tho❤

Well Juliet Ibrahim fired back at her after she called her an Idiot.

Nkechi has now apologized to Juliet saying she was emotional and she allowed her emotions get the best of her.

Read her apology below…

Dear Juliet Ibrahim my name is Nkechi Blessing sunday. I write this to address what really went wrong yesterday,Yesterday I was very emotional and i allowed my emotions get the best part of me and I said alot of hurtful things to a fellow woman which i am not proud of so I am here to say I am SORRY to Juliet Ibrahim. Even though she said alot to me herself but that does not matter what matters is I like to let go of my hurt and make peace . I am a woman and well brought up and I should not have let my emotions get the best part of me. I am not afraid of criticism, please i love to learn and i love to be taught by people who have been there before me. But the comment came off wrongly. I felt like i was been talked down on my talent and abilities, and yesterday was not the best day for me as i was dealing with alot myself so all this added to me blowing off but this is not me making excuses but me making peace and correcting whatever wrong impression about me yesterday must have created in the minds of people. Once again i am sorry to everyone who I have disappointed by my actions. This are people that love and have great respect and expectations for me but I let them down. I should have acted differently. Also to juliet Ibrahim I am sorry and I Open my arms for love and peace I hope you will kindly embrace it. We are all women we should love and support each other not fight each other. Thank you all and have a blessed holiday…Cc @julietibrahim
