Mercy Aigbe’s ex, Lanre Gentry responds to her shady Father’s Day post by listing all he does for his kid and hers

Mercy Aigbe

Earlier today, actress Mercy Aigbe wished herself a happy Father’s Day and shaded those “sperm donors” claiming to be fathers yet contribute nothing to the lives of their kids (read here).

She didn’t call names and neither did she indicate if she was referring to her first baby daddy or Lanre Gentry, her estranged husband, but Lanre has decided to clear the air.

In an Instagram post, he wished himself a happy Fathers’ Day and listed all the things he does for his son with Mercy and also for Mercy’s daughter who isn’t his biological child.

He wrote: “Happy father’s day to me, I thank God for my life and I genuinely love my kids and I take good care of them, from paying their school fees and taking full responsibilities including my Juwon Gentry and even Mitchell, I have proof and I will never stop taking care of them, once again happy fathers day to me and I am proud to say that.”

Sad! Man crushed to death after mum’s coffin falls on him during her funeral

Sad!?Man crushed to death after mum?s coffin falls on him during her funeral

Samen Kondorura, 40, was killed when his mother’s coffin fell from a funeral tower and crushed him during a service on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia on Friday.

The sad incident happened when pallbearers lost their footing while carrying the coffin up a bamboo ladder, and the casket fell as the group hoisted it onto a lakkian, an ornately carved tower where the deceased is placed before elaborate traditional funeral rites.

“As the mother’s coffin was being raised to the lakkian, suddenly the ladder shifted and collapsed, the coffin fell and hit the victim,” Julianto Sirait, chief commissioner of the Tana Toraja resort police, told AFP.

Video from the scene, which has gone viral online, shows the ladder slip just as the casket enters the tower, sending the men tumbling several metres to the ground where the victim is struck by the coffin.

Horrified onlookers rush to the men’s aid but Kondorura died later in hospital.  Sirait said the accident happened because the ladder was not properly reinforced but the family has declined to press charges.

The body of Kondorura is now resting alongside his mother Berta, he added. When ethnic Torajans die, local residents hold elaborate funerals that can last for days and involve music, dance and the sacrifice of water buffalo.

THE REMAINS OF OUR BELOVED FRIEND,DAUGHTER, SISTER, COLLEAGUE AND WIFE BARR.MRS Onyinye Ukpor WAS LAID TO REST EARLIER TODAY.

Today still resonates as yesterday’s expectations and joy is cut short by untimely death.

How cruel that LEUKAEMIA(Cancer Of The Blood) at the age of 24 could snatch you away from your beloved husband in a marriage that is barely 9MONTHS OLD and from we your friends.

Pained is the word as Alumni of OJIMS COLLEGE observed the burial of an ex student late Barr. Onyinye Ukpor Julius whose husband Mr  Julius Chinedu Onyekwere is also an alumnus of Ojims College.

We all will someday hearken to the inevitable call of death,
Indeed a call that is a respecter of none,
Neither does it elude the aged nor the innocent young.
Once more it has come knocking & you our beloved ONYINYE opened and embraced it.

Amiable, lovable, endearing and unique all these qualities you possessed but in my words, I will unequivocally describe you as an epitome of solace with so much humility, meekness and a peaceful heart that loved the things of GOD.

I WISH YOU REST IN GOD’S BOSSOM.

”Honoring MKO Abiola won’t give Buhari Southwest votes in 2019, Yorubas are not dunces” Afenifere chieftain, Ayo Adebanjo says

Elder statesman and a chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, says the recent honor done on late MKO Abiola by the Federal government will not in anyway influcnce the South West region to vote for him enmass.

Recall that on June 6th, President Buhari announced that beginning from next year, democracy day will officially be June 12th. On the 12th of June this year, he honored the late MKO Abiola and two others with National awards.

Chief Adebanjo who is an elder statesman in the South West region, said in an interview with Thisday, that the award will not manipulate the people in the region to vote for President Buhari in the 2019 election. Accoridng to him, Yorubas are not dunces.

”Thank you (President) Buhari for doing what is right, although belated. Full stop! Nothing more. If he is going to get any vote it will depend on his performance in the last three years, and not to give emergency recognition just to get votes, that doesn’t work with the people of Nigeria or of Yoruba land, we are no dunces. I appreciate this good thing he did; nothing will deprive me from saying that he has done well by doing this thing, although belated. I don’t want to read any meaning into it. It is a thing I have been agitating for, however belated. Even in his (Buhari’s) own case, he has been there for three years, but he didn’t do it until now. There is no question of drawing a red herring. If we begin to go into why he did it, it will defeat the benefit of the good thing that he has done. Let us acknowledge the good thing he has done and don’t read any other meaning to it. Yorubas are no fools. They can distinguish between good and bad. Nobody can bamboozle us on anything.” he said

On whether President Buhari deserved a second term, Chief Adebanjo said: “I don’t think so. I didn’t think he even deserved the first term and his performance during the term confirms my belief. So, I’m not part of those to be asked if he deserves a second term. I am one of those who warned that it would be a tragedy to vote for him and he has proved me right. Those who voted for him should go and ask him what he has done in the first term, because second term is a question of performance.”

Photo: Police foil attempt to kidnap Customs Deputy Comptroller General and her family in Lagos

Police detectives attached to Area-D-Command, Mushin, Lagos foiled an attempt to kidnap a Deputy Comptroller of Customs, her younger brother and her son yesterday June 16th.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, the Area D Commander quickly assembled a decoy team which played along with a caller who had been calling Barrister Yisa Theophilus, the  younger brother of the female officer.  The police team ran a quick check on the caller based on available information and came to conclusion that he was upto something sinister.

The team found out that aside being a notorious criminal in the area, the caller, later discovered to be one Yomi Odudare(pictured right), was into land selling business (omonile). So the detectives called him to meet with them for a land deal and he agreed.

Yesterday, 16/06/18, being the day they  agreed to meet, the detectives went along with the younger brother of the female officer Yisa Theophilus whom he had been calling frequently. They met the suspect at a project site in Ajah, Lagos, called Fara-park and he was promptly arrested.

During a brief interrogation at the scene of arrest, the suspect confessed that he has never met the lawyer nor any member of his family. He however said that the idea to kidnap Bar Yisa, his sister and her son came from one Olugbenga Kehinde Ojo(pictured left), a former Driver to the Deputy Comptroller’s uncle. He added that the idea was to kidnap the lawyer and force him to lure out his sister,  who is a Deputy Comptroller of Customs.

To make his story believable, he put a call to the said Olugbenga Kehinde Ojo. He told him to meet up with him, that he had successfully kidnapped the lawyer. He was happy and so he rushed to the  venue, straight into the waiting arms of police detectives investigating the case. Both suspects took the police to a shanty, surrounded by water, situate in Eleko, along Lekki/Epe expressway, Lagos, which they prepared as a hostage ground for their would be victims.

It was the agreement of both suspects that in order to avoid the mistakes of the notorious kidnapper, Evans, the moment  any of their potential victims sights Olugbenga Ojo, a former employee of the Deputy Comptroller’s uncle, that person must be killed because they all know him.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Edgal imohimi, has advised Lagosians to be wary of people who call them out for lucrative business deals as it might turn out to be a ploy to kidnap or harm them. He however assured that the Command will remain proactive in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state.

Blackout looms in Nigeria as six power stations shut down

Blackout looms in Nigeria as six power stations shut down

Total blackout looms as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has shut down six thermal power generating stations to enable the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) pipeline carry out repairs on a ruptured gas pipeline.

A statement released today by the General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, Ndidi Mbah, says the repair work and the total shut down of the power generating stations has rsulted in the drop in power supply.

According to Mbah, the six thermal power generating stations were unable to generate electricity due to the gas pipeline and the technical issues at the Shell gas wells. The company listed the affected power stations to include Ihovbor, Azura, Omotosho gas, Geregu gas, Olorunsogo gas, Sapele and the Egbin power stations. TCN said the six power generating thermal stations had managed to generate 60MW only on each of its units, losing a total of 211MW.

Mbah also said Afam VI power station was shut down so that Shell oil company could resolve its gas well issues to enable it commence gas supply to Afam VI power station.

“With a total loss of 1,087.6MW into the grid, the transmission system has become quite fragile and TCN is working hard to avert a collapse of the system, by engaging in load-shedding. Load-shedding, is to ensure that available generation is commensurate with what is allocated to DisCos nationwide, to create a balance and avert grid instability,” Mbah said in her statement

The FCT and some states have been affected by this development. Mbah however stated that efforts are being made to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose, denies saying he will be defecting to APC soon

Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose, denies saying he will be defecting to APC soon

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, has denied news making the rounds on social media that he is planning to defect to APC. Fayose is quoted to have said that if moving to APC would solve the problems of the party, he was ready to do so.

The governor in a statement released by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, said the report is false and baseless. Read the statement below

Kindly disregard statement being circulated by members of the APC in Ekiti State that Governor Ayodele Fayose said “If defecting to APC will solve Ekiti problems, he will join APC and nobody can stop him.”

The governor did not and will never make such statement.

The statement was part of the many lies being circulated by the Ekiti APC and its unsellable governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, obviously to suppress reports of his rejection by Ekiti people.

Even when APC was still basking in the euphoria of its electoral success of 2015, Governor Fayose made it abundantly clear then that he will never have anything to do with the party, not to talk about now that the party is nearing its political grave.

As we approach the July 14 governorship election, it is expected that several lies will be told by the APC and its sinking candidate to confuse the unsuspecting members of the public.

Therefore, members of the public are urged to disregard any statement not attributed to me or the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Idowu Adelusi.

Most importantly, Governor Fayose’s comments on issues (both national and State) are always on his Twitter Handle @GovAyoFayose.

Furthermore, statements by the governor are published on my Facebook Timelines; https://www.facebook.com/lere.olayinka and https://www.facebook.com/lere.olayinkaii as well Twitter Handle: @OlayinkaLere.

Any statement credited to Governor Fayose and cannot be found either on his Twitter Handle or my Facebook Timelines and Twitter Handle should be DISREGARDED.

Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari, just revealed she has 4 children!

We all knew when she had her twin girls back in 2015. She however went on to have another girl in February 2017 which nobody knew of and another one in January 2018.

She revealed this in a post she shared on her IG page to celebrate her hubby on Father’s day today. Read below…

My dearest… Here comes one of those moments when I find myself reminiscing about the richest and most congenial memories of the past decade of our relationship.

Along this journey came the season of February 2015 when we welcomed our gorgeous set of twin girls.
Then, In February 2017 we were blessed with another beautiful girl.

And then, In January 2018, we were blessed again with our adorable munchkin who made the Grand Entry into this world.
Honey, from the moment I saw your merry eyes – you have always had an air of geniality which you’ve never lost.

This special day affords me the opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable man you are, the amazing guide you represent, the selflessness you exhibit beyond measure, and the perfect father you are to our children.

I want you to know that, as I love and appreciate you, so I esteem every moment of our journey for the past 10 years.
My prayer to God today is that He blesses us with many, many more of these decades and continue to keep us worthy. Happy Father’s Day baby!

With all my love,

Nadia!
