This viral photo does not show a guy who died while masturbating during the volcanic eruption at Pompeii

A viral photo was shared by a Twitter user who claims it depicts a man who died while masturbating during the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79.

The tweet quickly went viral and people made jokes about it. But it turns out the tweet doesn’t exactly show a man masturbating.

 

 

As noted by the HoaxEye Twitter account, the photo is really from Pompeii. A color version of the image was shared in June on the verified Instagram account for the Pompeii Archeological Area. It posted the photo with the description, “Plaster cast of a victim of the eruption.”

The man’s pose has nothing to do with the activity he was engaged in before dying, according to a volcanologist who studies the Pompeii victims.

“The individual in the photo is an adult man, killed by the hot pyroclastic surge (hot gas and ash cloud which killed most of the population living around Mount Vesuvius), with both arms and legs flexed due to the heat,” Pier Paolo Petrone told the Daily Dot.

Petrone told the Daily Dot that “most of the human victims found in Pompeii often show ‘strange’ position of arms and legs, due to the contraction of limbs as a consequence of the heat effect on their bodies after death occurred.”

But even with the explanation, most people still prefer the story that claims he was masturbating, so they went with that and kept making hilarious wank jokes.

Today, President Buhari explained that he declared his intention to contest the 2019 Presidential election early in order to douse rising speculations in the country. He also said the decision was to give the All Progressives Congress (APC) enough time to prepare for the polls.

A lot of people were trying to make it a habit of being a nuisance to themselves and many Nigerians, so when I came out I said those who are serious let them come out. And I tried to make sure that the party is organised and consolidated so that we start from the bottom to the top, he said.

The president said early declaration guaranteed more participation within the party and further strengthened the bond with supporters and Nigerians. He noted that God’s divine intervention and the use of technology during the 2015 elections exposed the weakness of previous processes where a privileged few sat and allocated figures to constituencies during elections.

 

“They just sit and look at a constituency and they award the numbers, then they say anybody who disagrees should go to court; Now for somebody who is looking for the next meal where does he get money to pay Senior Advocates of Nigeria? Thank God for technology, with the PVC you know where you registered and it can be shown whether you voted or not,’’ the president said.

 

He therefore advised Nigerians to get their voters card for the 2019 elections and ensure that they vote to please their conscience with pride as citizens.

Man steals car from date and went with another woman on a date (Photo)

A date went horribly wrong for a lady who claimed the man she went out with stole her car and went with another woman on a date in Memphis, Tennessee. 

The lady named Faith Pugh told Police that the incident occurred on Saturday when she went to meet Kelton Griffin for romantic dinner. She said they decided to use her car since Griffin didn’t drive.

 

According to her, while they were driving Griffin asked her to stop by at a gas station and help him buy a cigar. But when she got out, she said he had already sped off in her car.

An hour later, Pugh says a friend sent her a text saying Griffin had just asked her out.

The friend told Pugh where they were and she showed up to a drive-in theater with police, where they found the pair in her car.

According to abc7news.com, Griffin was arrested on the spot.

Nigerian woman accuses officials at the state house clinic of blackmailing her for exposing corrupt activities

According to a female Twitter user, Fakhuus Hashim,  the permanent secretary of the state house clinic, Abuja has blackmailed her into writing an apology letter for lifting the lid on corrupt practices in the medical centre. She says her sister worked there but has been sacked for Fakhuus’ failure to comply to their demands.

 

It will be recalled that president Buhari’s daughter, Zahra has also spoken out against the lack of basic equipment at the centre despite billions in budgetary allocation. Tonto Dikeh apologizes to former personal shopper whose bags she burnt publicly years ago

Actress and reality tv star Tonto Dikeh, in an Insta-live session about forgiveness, reached out and apologized to a personal shopper whose bags she burnt in 2015 after they fell out.

The personal shopper had raised hell on social media after alleging that Tonto didn’t pay for the bags.

 

Tonto revealed that the bags in question were fake and after their heated internet exchange, burnt the bags and sent a video to the personal shopper.

Speed Darlington is sourcing for funds online after a video purportedly showing him using his new Mercedes Benz for cab services went viral (read here).

But rather than use his photo to create the account, he used a naked photo of Kim Kardashian, probably to draw attention.

‘Dasuki did not cause any deaths and he did not divert any money from funds for the war against Boko Haram’ – FFK

Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode has reacted to a statement credited to Nigeria’s Minister for Justice and Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami saying, “Dasuki won’t be released despite numerous bails because he caused 100,000 deaths”.

 

According to FFK, ‘this is a lie from the pit of hell! You must stop believing ur own propaganda. Your government is not above the law and whether you like it or not you must obey court orders. Dasuki did not cause ANY deaths and he did not divert ANY money from funds for the war against Boko Haram. South African police officers to face trial for killing Nigerian

Some South African police officers in the coming weeks will be arraigned for allegedly killing a 25-year-old Nigerian, Ibrahim Olalekan-Badmus, in 2017.

 

The Nigerian Mission in South Africa in an interview today said that the officers were implicated in the killing. The Nigeria’s Consul General in South Africa, Godwin Adama, said through a telephone from Johannesburg that the South African authority had confirmed that investigation into the murder case was almost concluded.

 

“Badmus, a native of Lagos was brutally murdered by the South African Police on Oct. 10, 2017 at vanderbidjk park, South Africa. Police officers implicated in the murder will be charged to the High court any moment from now,” he said.

 

Police officers were alleged to have stormed the home of Badmus, an undergraduate at Vaal University of Technology in Vanderbijlpark in South Africa, with claims that he was trafficking drugs. However, when the police searched his home, they could not find any drug in it. They allegedly asked the deceased for money and when he could not give them money, they handcuffed him and used excessive pepper spray on him. He passed out and died due to suffocation  Adama said that the case was classified as high profile because of the tension generated by the development as some Nigerians who had confrontation with the police almost took laws into their hands.

 

The Consul General said that on hearing of the development immediately rushed to the scene where he interfaced with the aggrieved Nigerians and the police to calm frayed nerves.

 

“I led a delegation from the mission to visit the scene on receipt of the information. When we arrived at the scene, the place was tensed up because Nigerians there were not happy. We immediately met with the Station Commander in the area with some selected Nigerians. The police assured that a thorough investigation would be carried out and that the culprit would be brought to book,” he said.

 

He said that the authority arrested the police officers that perpetrated the crime and commenced investigation. Adama said that the mission had followed up the case and it was clear that investigating authorities had done a very thorough job as promised. He stressed that the authorities had said that the suspects would be charged to court any moment from now.

 

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had expressed worry over the killings of Nigerians in South Africa. Dabiri-Erewa stated that no fewer than 117 Nigerians were extra-judicially killed in South Africa between 2013 and 2018 for one flimsy reason or the other.

Two commuters sitting on train fall and die in Lagos, others injured

No fewer than two people have died and two others have been injured when a train veered off while trying to avoid colliding with an abandoned commercial bus.

The accident reportedly occurred this morning on old Abeokuta road, Agege, Lagos. It was gathered that the victims were sitting on the train when it veered upon sighting the bus from afar. Eyewitnesses allege that the victims fell off the top of the train and on to the rail-line where they were crushed by the moving train. Two other victims fell close to the bus and lost some body parts.

The train is said to have continued on its journey, unaware of what had happened, while onlookers rushed the injured to nearby Orile-Agege General Hospital.

 

 

After the accident, angry youths set the abandoned bus ablaze. Emergency agencies later arrived on the scene for recovery and evacuation.

Guy accidentally texts his boss telling her she doesn’t have a “d*ck appointment”

A guy is worried he may no longer have a job after he accidentally sent a text to his boss telling her she doesn’t have a d*** appointment.

Cory, from Joliet, US, received a text from an unknown number which read: “I’m making you come at 12 on Friday”.

Obviously, Cory read it as ‘cum’ and decided to respond to the number.

He texted back: “First off you’re not making me do sh*t second off I don’t remember scheduling any dick appointments”.

Seconds later, he received a reply explaining it was his boss, Maribel, texting him with a new number.

 

 

Cory decided to tweet a screenshot of the conversation, which has gone viral. He also went on to post updates of the situation.

In one update, Cory explained that he didn’t respond, and his boss texted him to say: “I’ll be giving you a call tomorrow to discuss the terms of your employment with us”.
