World Cup Golden Boot frontrunner likened to legend Gary Lineker

images (10).jpeg

‘Harry Kane is a born goalscorer’ and ‘he is just like’ England legendary striker Gary Lineker, says Henry Abiodun ahead of Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final clash against Sweden.

Kane leads the race for the Golden Boot after netting six goals, two better than closest contender Romelu Lukaku.

However, the manner in which Gareth Southgate’s captain has done it has left some fumings.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has scored three goals from open play [two headers in their opener against Tunisia and a deflection in the mauling of Panama], with the other half coming from the penalty spot.

But according to the Sunshine Stars boss, it doesn’t matter how the goals come, as they would arrive naturally, eventually – just as it was for former Three Lion, Lineker, scorer of 48 goals in 80 international caps.

“In this World Cup we’ve seen so many big stars and penalty specialists miss their kicks, but Kane has always been calm and delivered his own – even in games where he had to take them twice, he scored both,” Abiodun told Goal.

“The thing is; Kane is a born goalscorer, he’d always get the goals no matter what, no matter how they come. Penalties, deflections, he’d always get them.

“He’s just like Gary Lineker.

“The past seasons in the English Premier League he’s always been one of the top goalscorers.
