Katy Perry travels all the way to London for Quick Trip to See Orlando Bloom’s Play, Killer Joe

She’s supporting her man!

Days after confirming that she’s “not single” at the American Idolfinale in Los Angeles, Katy Perry made a quick trip across the pond to support Orlando Bloom, her rumored boyfriend.

According to the popstar’s Instagram Stories, she hit up the actor’s performance of the West End revival of Tracy Letts’ Killer Joe at London’s Trafalgar Studio 1.

The stop was a brief one—tonight the singer is performing herself, hitting up the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam for her Witness Tour on Saturday night. The “Part of Me” singer will also be performing in Amsterdam on Sunday.

While in merry old England, the 33-year-old snacked on a traditional English meal of “beans on toast.”

Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom

It looks the two had quite the hot-rod night on the town. The possible couple were spotted leaving a late night dinner at C Restaurant in London after the show. Wearing motorcycle helmets, they made their way to Orlando’s new super bike parked opposite the road. An eyewitness tells E! News that their driver and bodyguard oversaw things and made sure they got onto the bike okay. Orlando gave the engine a once over before zooming off and Katy was heard yelling “Woo-hooo” as they sped off into the night.

Bloom has recently began his West End stint of the grisly comedy, which opened previews on May 18 and will officially open June 4. The play, directed by Simon Evans, is scheduled to run through August 18. Bloom is joined by Gypsy star Sophie CooksonAmadeusactor Adam GillenDr. Who‘s Neve McIntosh, and Steffan Rhodri from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I.

While Perry and Bloom have yet to comment on their relationship status, for months they have been spotted together, igniting rumors that the exes had rekindled their relationship.

They’ve had dates in Tokyo and Rome and met Pope Francis together—despite the the fact that the two had  taken “space” at the beginning of 2017.

On Monday night, Katy spilled the beans, basically confirming what we all know—that she’s with Orly—during an on-air encounter with The Bachelorette‘s Becca Kufrin who on-air was promoting her upcoming season.

“Can I be in the running?” the in-awe Kufrin asked Katy, who said, “I’m not single, but I still like you.”

Looks like their on-again romance is in full bloom!

13 Simple Steps To Make Any Girl Fall In Love With You

Love: The four-letter word that is all around us, yet still so difficult for many men to find.

Thankfully, I’ve manufactured a simple 13-step formula to solve this problem. Follow these steps and any girl will fall for you. Love has never been so easy.

1. Shower, shave, and leave the house.

Obvious… Now onto the real stuff…

2. Speak to a pretty girl.

Feeling nervous? Don’t worry! That’s just the crippling anxiety ingrained in all males since the days cavemen were savagely beaten for speaking to the wrong woman.

3. Bypass the bitch shield.

Beautiful women will be initially bitchy to most men who compliment them. It’s a defense mechanism that stems from being hit on by hundreds and hundreds of dudes. Avoid this bitchiness by being more interesting and charming than all of them.

4. Disarm the cockblocks.

A girl’s friends will instinctively protect her from any man she deems to be creepy, rude, or unattractive. Either win them over within a minute of meeting them or find a wingman to keep them busy. If your girl is out in a big group, you’ve got some serious plate-spinning to do. Get her phone number at the very least.

5. Show her you like her while acting like you don’t.

It’s a precise tightrope. Find the perfect balance between trying hard and playing hard to get.

6. Masterfully construct the perfect text message.

Bear in mind that girls will critically analyze and decipher every word. That’s assuming your message stands out from the dozens of alerts she gets from Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Snapchat, other lads, etc.

7. Master the game of text-message tennis.

Become the Andy Murray of messaging. Every time your love match sends you a text, you’ll need to send a better one flying straight back at her. As with tennis, the length and timing of every shot you take is crucial.

8. Organize a romantic first date.

This typically involves a few hours of light flirting, avoiding awkward silences, and solving the even more awkward conundrum of who should pay. (It’s 2014; is anyone sure about this anymore?)

9. Organize a second and third date.

Someone went and told women that men would want them MORE if they waited to put out—and they believed it! The end result was the three-date rule. This rule has now been around so long that some girls wait four or five dates before giving it up. I call this “dating inflation.”

10. Have incredible sex.

The key point here is to make love, not to fuck. To perform the former, just remember the 4 C’s; kisses, cuddles, cunnilingus, and most importantly…condoms. (Yes, I know that “kisses” doesn’t technically start with a “C,” but don’t ruin the fun here.)

11. Wait for “What Are We?”

If you want the girl to fall for you, then it needs to be her asking this. It’ll come quicker if you perform steps 7, 8, 9, and 10 over and over again. It will come even faster if you’re still performing steps 1-10 on other women. Agree to be her boyfriend once she asks.

12. Put up with her flaws.

They’ll emerge once you’re exclusive. Accept her irrationalities. Adore her farts, complaints, and make-up-free face. Accompany her shopping. Fight your biological urge to flirt with other girls.

13. Drop the L-bomb.

I love you. If you’ve completed your dozen deeds with skill and competence, she’ll probably drop those three gorgeous words before you get the chance. It’s called the L-bomb because of the catastrophic effect it has on your heart, head, and emotions. Either way, you’re in love now.

How simple was that, then? Congratulations. You’re well on your way to marriage and then, statistically, a messy divorce, possibly via a couple of unwanted pregnancies.

Enjoy the ride.

101 Beauty Tips to Give You the Clearest Skin of Your Life

1527261446707-1432830770.jpg101 Beauty Tips to Give You the Clearest Skin of Your Life

Clear, perfect, glowy skin is pretty much a magical unicorn we’ve been chasing since we hit puberty. We love to believe it exists, but for most of us it’s a myth that only exists in fairy tales. And, honestly, the internet doesn’t help much. There are so many supposedly “natural” DIYs floating around the World Wide Web, it’s hard to tell what treatments and tips are real—and what’s a bunch of BS.

For that reason, we’ve compiled the 101 best tips for clear skin below—so you don’t have to spend all of your free time scouring articles trying to figure out what’s real and what’s not. And trust us, with a little TLC, the skin of your dreams can be very real.

101. For bad acne marks, a chemical peel can help to reduce or eliminate the discoloration of skin.

100. If you struggle with hormonal breakouts every month, reduce your alcohol and dairy intake and you’ll see an improvement in your skin.

99. The biggest mistake you can make is leaving your makeup on overnight. Keep makeup remover wipes at your bedside table to avoid acne in the morning.

98. Berries are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, plus they have a low glycemic index so they won’t raise your blood sugar. Because sugar can stimulate a breakout, eating berries will reduce the risk of pimples.

97. Exercise is important to staying healthy and keeping your skin clear, and Dr. Ava Shamban suggests exercising for about 15 minutes a day to keep toxins in your body at bay and maintain clear skin.

96. Using SPF every day will prevent wrinkles and dark spots, while dark spot correctors can reduce the appearance of marks over time.

95. When you work out, be sure to wash your face both before and after you exercise. Leaving makeup on your face while you exercise means that it will mix with your sweat and clog pores, so be sure to start and end with clean skin.

94. Hydration is key to clear skin. Dehydration causes breakouts, because the skin overcompensates and produces more oil than necessary when it’s dry, which in turn causes you to break out. Drink more water!

93. When a pimple comes along and you need to get rid of it ASAP, try a spot treatment like Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel. It helps to zap pimples in as little as 12 hours.

92. Grapefruit is packed with antioxidants, so using skin care products containing grapefruit will help to wake up your skin and leave it feeling clean and fresh.

91. To get rid of any body acne, make sure you don’t “stew in your own sweat;” shower with salicylic acid wash immediately after you workout to avoid clogging your pores.

90. If you’re going to pop a pimple at home, do it the right way. Sterilize your hands and a small needle with rubbing alcohol, then gently puncture the whitehead of the pimple, just enough to break the skin. Using a clean cotton swab, press on either side of the pimple until it’s drained. Cover with a bandage to keep the area clean while it’s healing.

89. Oil from your hair will get onto your pillowcase as you sleep, so change your pillowcases once a week to avoid sleeping on oil all night long.

88. Rosewater is both balancing and soothing, making it great for all skin types to even out redness and calm any irritation that may be happening.

87. Smoking not only dulls your skin and causes blotchiness, it will also give you wrinkles. Ditch the habit (you’ll thank us later).

86. When you get acne, try your best not to pick at it. The dirt and oil on your fingers can make things worse with bacteria and you’ll risk infection, which can lead to scarring.

85. If you can find a tube of moisturizer instead of a jar, use that. The bacteria from your fingers that touches the lotion each time you go to apply it stays in the jar and goes onto your face. If you must use a jar, use a cotton swab to apply product.

84. Benzoyl peroxide products that reduce acne are only good for up to three months after they’ve been opened, then the ingredients become inactive. If you’ve got an old tube, toss it in favor of a new one.

83. If you’re stressed, your skin shows it. Try Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer to even out redness and reduce signs of aging.

82. When booking an appointment for a facial, be sure to stay out of the sun for a few days beforehand so that you don’t irritate your skin.

81. An overnight facial that works while you sleep is key, and Korres Wild Rose and Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial lets you wake up looking refreshed.

80. For a seriously awful pimple, head to the dermatologist for a shot of cortisone.

79. If you’ve got dry skin, opt for a face oil instead of a lightweight lotion. The all day hydration will change your skin for the better.

78. Be sure to exfoliate your skin at least twice a week, if not every day. For sensitive skin, look for a more gentle exfoliator to use it more frequently without harsh effects.

77. If you’ve got irritable skin, try to find skin care products containing goat’s milk. Because of the stabilized pH level in goat’s milk, it’s not acidic and won’t irritate skin, giving you an even complexion.

76. Contrary to popular belief, putting Vaseline on your face nightly will not prevent wrinkles. However, if you put a thin layer of Vaseline over damp skin, moisture will be sealed in and your skin will be much smoother in the morning.

75. Eating too much chocolate could be the cause of breakouts, but the acne is likely just from the sugar in the chocolate or the fact that you’re eating chocolate before your period, so your acne could actually be hormonal.

74. Botox is proven to help with acne, improving sebum production and reducing the size of your pores.

73. While stress can cause flare ups in your skin, working out can reduce stress and acne. Incorporating exercise into your daily routine will combat stress and keep your skin clear.

72. You should always be avoiding skin care products containing alcohol, but take special note if you’ve got dry skin. Alcohol will only dry out your skin even more, making for a dry, flaky situation.

71. You should also avoid skin care products with a fragrance, whether it be a face or a body wash. Fragrances can irritate skin, causing redness and allergic reactions.

70. Don’t let greasy sunscreen be an excuse for not wearing any at all! Instead, find a lightweight, non-greasy SPF formula like Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream SPF 30 and stop dangerous UV rays in their tracks.

69. If you’re a DIY beauty queen, use the milk in your fridge to get clear, smooth skin. Dampen a washcloth with milk and gently pat it over your face, leaving it on your face for about 10 minutes before rinsing. For the effect all over, add a cup of milk to your bath water.

68. Sunscreen is not just for the beach – the New England Journal of Medicine discovered that even being exposed to sunlight through glass (like the windows in your office) can have damaging effects on your skin.

67. For a procedure that will minimize and tighten pores while moisturizing skin, try a microdermabrasion treatment at the spa.

66. For pale-skinned girls everywhere, St. Tropez Skin Illuminator makes your skin luminescent and clear.

65. During your morning beauty routine, it’s best to style your hair before doing your makeup. If you’ve got makeup on your face before you start using a blow dryer, the heat begins to melt your makeup, sealing it into your pores and making your skin much more susceptible to breakouts.

64. If you’ve got an ingrown hair on your face, use a hot compress on the area to open up pores for about 10 minutes, softening the hair. Then, use a slanted tweezer to pluck the hair, followed by washing the area to avoid infection.

63. Stop touching your face throughout the day! You pick up bacteria from every surface you touch from your keyboard to your cell phone to elevator buttons to menus at a restaurant, and all of that bacteria floods your face once you start touching your skin. Hands off, and you’ll see less breakouts.

62. Adding coconut oil to your diet will help to moisturize and smooth your skin, and Miranda Kerr swears by this trick.

61. Speaking of coconut oil, mix it with baking soda for a killer facial scrub that will help with eczema.

60. Wine (in moderation) is proven to help shield your skin cells from harmful UV rays, so feel free to drink up.

59. Green tea is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, fighting off bacteria and free radicals that can harm your skin. Try to drink at least one cup of green tea a day.

58. To minimize breakouts during the summer, cut the number of products you use by opting for a tinted moisturizer with SPF, one of our favorite triple-duty products.

57. Vitamin E oil heals scars, but be sure to use it sparingly on your face as too much will overdo it. Dab some over a scar at bedtime to let the vitamin work overnight.

56. As the seasons change, so should your skin care. The heavy cream you use in the winter should become a lightweight moisturizer in the summer so that your skin isn’t taking on more product than it needs during warmer months.

55. Make washing your face in the morning and nighttime a routine by setting a reminder for yourself for three weeks. Once you do it for three weeks straight, it will become habit, and it’ll be integrated into your daily routine.

54. Using retinoids at night helps to prevent acne and fade spots, treating the areas overnight.

53. Try taking up yoga or another relaxing activity to de-stress yourself on a regular basis. Because stress is a huge cause of acne, combating it in any way will reduce breakouts.

52. Can’t find a spot treatment for acne? Try using 100-percent tea tree oil on the area before bedtime, and you’ll wake up with a much happier complexion.

51. Clean your glasses and sunglasses with rubbing alcohol to kill any bacteria that may be living on them, causing breakouts while they sit on your face.

50. If you’ve got bangs, you may experience breakouts more frequently on your forehead than any other part of your face because of the excess oil from your hair. Be sure to wash your bangs every day if you’re used to going two days without washing your hair, or pin your bangs up while they’re especially in need of a shampoo.

49. By learning which skin type you have, you can also learn how to treat it. Whether it’s dry, normal, oily or combination, there’s a specific type of product you should be looking for that will work best for you.

48. Clean your makeup brushes every two weeks or so. The amount of product and bacteria build up that happens within two weeks is frightening, and the longer you wait to clean the brushes the longer you’re putting the bacteria right on your skin, causing breakouts. Use warm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap to clean your brushes, laying flat to dry to avoid any warping that can happen.

47. Don’t over-wash your face. Though clean skin leads to clear skin, washing too vigorously or too often can irritate skin and do more harm than good.

46. Avoid oil-based foundations and other cosmetic products, as the oil will clog pores and certainly cause breakouts.

45. In addition to face wash, use a toner if you’ve got oily skin. Any excess makeup and bacteria will be removed and you’ll have fresh skin.

44. Try to cut back on fast food or anything fried. The excess grease may not immediately cause acne, but over time it can build up and your skin will be showing the effects.

43. Similarly to fast food, avoid sugary drinks like soda and juice in favor of water. A sugar surplus will not do anything to help your skin.

42. If you’re skipping a day of shampoo, sleep with your hair in a ponytail to keep your face away from any grease that may be in your strands.

41. For irritated skin, rubbing an ice cube over your face for a few minutes a day will help to alleviate any burning or redness happening.

40. Don’t just wash and moisturize your face—take care of every inch of skin on your body for clear skin overall.

39. One cause of body acne on your shoulders may be that your bra straps are too tight. By loosening the straps just a pinch, your skin will be able to breathe and will be less prone to breaking out in that area. Plus, make sure you’re not allergic to the fabric in the bra.

38. Products containing almonds can help to moisturize your skin and lighten dark circles, so look for almonds on the ingredients label on your next skin care purchase.

37. If you’ve got sensitive skin, try to buy hypoallergenic products to reduce any allergic reactions that may happen in the future.

36. Treat yourself to a spa day once in a while. Relax, rest and get a seriously awesome skin treatment that will make you feel like a new person.

35. Make sure you’re getting at least seven hours of sleep a night. A lack of sleep wreaks havoc on your skin, but resting for enough time each night lets your body rejuvenate and restore itself, leading to clearer skin.

34. Your cell phone contains more bacteria than a toilet seat, so putting it against your face when you’re talking on the phone can cause massive breakouts. Be sure to use anti-bacterial wipes to clean your phone, plus use speaker phone or your headphones as much as possible when calling your friends to avoid acne.

33. Using mineral makeup that contains zinc oxide will help to fight acne as you cover it, instead of other makeup that will simply clog pores. Look for this ingredient the next time you’re due for a new foundation.

32. If you’re someone who struggles with not drinking enough water throughout the day, place a full glass of water on your bedside table at night and drink it as soon as you wake up in the morning to kickstart hydration. Hydrated skin is clearer skin.

31. Carry a pack of oil blotting sheets in your purse wherever you go for touch ups throughout the day. By getting rid of oil and shine throughout the day, it won’t be building up on your face for hours before you wash it off.

30. Don’t be afraid of moisturizer, even if you’ve got oily skin. Applying makeup on top of dry, flaky skin will only make your skin look even more dry and flaky, so opt for a lightweight moisturizer to keep things smooth and clear.

29. Steam and hot water will open pores while cold water and air will help to close them. Never apply your makeup directly after a hot shower because when your pores are open, they’ll instantly absorb more of the makeup, clogging pores. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes before applying makeup so that your pores will close up first.

28. Try going without makeup for one day a week over the weekend to let your skin breathe.

27. Ditch your makeup products after they’ve been around for six months. Once they hit the six month mark, they’ve got enough bacteria in them to cause a breakout.

26. Don’t use your hand towel as your face towel. The dirt that is left behind on a hand towel should not be used to rub against your face, so be sure to use separate towels.

25. Cut back on the candy. Sugar in candy builds up in your body and manifests in the form of acne, so try reaching for a healthier snack instead.

24. Even when you’re inside, you should be wearing an SPF on your face. The lightbulbs and screens that shine on your face all day can actually cause damage that’s completely prevented with sunscreen.

23. Try a face mask about once a week, but don’t overuse it (like every day).

22. Sitting close to your laptop and letting your hair fall in your face can cause breakouts, so be sure to sit a bit farther from your computer and pull your hair into a ponytail while you’re at the screen.

21. Crush up aspirin and mix it into water to form a paste, put it on your face and let it dry as a face mask, then rinse it off. It dries up acne, healing it at the source.

20. Apple cider vinegar works as a toner to help clear your skin by balancing your pH level. Try drinking a tablespoon of it a day to cure acne from the inside out.

19. Crush up garlic and mix it with water, then take a washcloth and dampen part of it, washing the areas of your face that usually break out. It works as a great antibacterial solution.

18. Honey is also a natural antibacterial agent. Try placing a dab of honey on a problem pimple at night, and the issue will be much smaller when you wake up in the morning.

17. Mint is an anti-inflammatory, so using mint oil or crushed mint leaves on a red, irritated area of skin will help to soothe the situation.

16. Beefing up your fiber intake will help with digestion, meaning your body will be able to process foods better and in turn, your skin will reap the benefits. Foods rich in fiber include fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

15. Limit the dairy products you consume, like milk and cheese. These days, animals are fed hormones so that their food products are super charged, but it means that the milk you’re drinking and the cheese you’re eating could contain hormones, which can throw off your own hormonal balance (like when you get your period).

14. Lavender oil and aloe vera juice can help minimize acne scars.

13. Plain yogurt makes a fantastic hydrating face mask. Apply a layer to your skin and wash it off after about 15 minutes.

12. Taking a biotin supplement will help your body regenerate skin cells faster, so your skin will be clearer faster. Added bonus: it also helps with hair and nail growth.

11. If it seems like a certain beauty product is making you break out, talk to your doctor to test if you’re allergic to gluten or another ingredient that may be irritating your skin.

10. Slice up a tomato and lay it over your face, allowing the juice to act as astringent to break up oil and dirt.

9. If your favorite baseball cap is causing pimples on your forehead, the best way to wash the hat is to put it in the dishwasher. Plus, while it’s washing your forehead will be able to breathe.

8. Wash your hands before you wash your face. Going straight into washing your face with dirt and oil on your hands will defeat the purpose of cleaning your face.

7. Dark spots can take up to four months to heal, so continue to treat with dark spot corrector religiously until you see results. Don’t be discouraged!

6. If you’re prone to hormonal acne, try to avoid spot treating and instead, use a salicylic acid cleanser over your entire face.

5. Unfortunately, caffeine can trigger acne, so cutting back on your coffee intake (especially if you add tons of sugar) will help to clear things up.

4. Look for non-comedogenic makeup and moisturizer to avoid breakouts.

3. Lowering your alcohol intake will also help to clear skin, as drinking alcohol (especially mixed drinks) is the same as drinking sugar.

2. If you’re taking a hot shower, try not to linger. The heat can dry out your skin, leaving it dehydrated and flaky.

1. After you’ve tried every tip and trick out there, if your skin still isn’t clear, make an appointment with the dermatologist for a more personalized plan of attack

What Requirements Do You Need to Be a Cocktail Waitress?

Personality is a cocktail waitress's greatest asset.

Because alcoholic beverages carry a higher price tag than milkshakes and soft drinks, a cocktail waitress has the potential to make a good amount of money, most of it from tips. While you don’t need formal education to be a cocktail waitress, you should have certain traits and skills. Mostly, you just need to be a friendly face to offer a cold drink to your patrons.

Food Service Experience

The position of cocktail waitress is highly desirable among restaurant staff. Due to the level of competition, restaurant managers usually allow a waitress to move up to alcohol service only after she has gained experience serving food and non-alcoholic beverages. While the promotion is partly a reward for seniority, the position is such that an entry-level server will find its execution difficult. Time as a regular waitress allows a server to familiarize herself with the workings of a restaurant gradually as opposed to starting in the faster-paced job of cocktail waitress.

One of the most important aspects of being a cocktail waitress is having a friendly, outgoing personality. Whether a person is drinking to celebrate, to unwind or to sulk, a cocktail waitress should provide efficient, friendly service. If a customer wants conversation, she should be willing to accommodate him while remaining attentive to the other patrons. If he simply wants to be left alone, she should keep her distance, occasionally checking to see if he needs anything. Whichever situation she encounters, she should remain friendly and professional in her interaction with the customer.

Multitasking Ability

If a bar is doing well, a cocktail waitress will make more money, but she will also work much harder. She must be able to handle multiple customers and their drink orders simultaneously. If she is able to provide accurate and expedient service, she will do better with tips. If she makes mistakes and takes too long to serve drinks, her tips will suffer.

Ability to Handle Pressure

A downside of serving customers alcohol is that the product has an adverse effect on patrons. It is inevitable that at some point, a cocktail waitress will have to handle belligerent customers. She must do so cautiously and responsibly. It is part of her job to recognize the signs of intoxication and know when to stop serving a patron. This responsibility in itself adds extra pressure to the job

Everything you need to know about cocktails

I love cocktail do you

Are you feeling more shaken than stirred when it comes to cocktail making? Never fear, we’ve covered off all the basics to making brilliant beverages.

With Summer just around the corner, it’s important to have a few entertaining ideas up your sleeve for when your friends and family pop by. One of the greatest ways to delight your loved ones is with a mean beverage, especially when you’ve mixed it especially for them.

With that in mind, we sat down with Joe Worthington, general manager of Oxford Street’s latest hot-spot, Della Hyde, to give us some expert insight into the world of cocktail making, and answer some of our most pressing questions.

Cocktail terms and definitions

What does it mean when a cocktail says neat, sour, dirty, or on-the-rocks?

Neat: straight up, spirit poured the way the producer meant it – on its own.
Sour: heavily laden with some form of citrus, usually lemon.
Dirty: more often than not, when you ask for a martini dirty it involves olive brine!
On the rocks: cocktail poured over ice.

And what’s the difference between a shaken martini and a stirred one?

Unless you’re James Bond, all martinis should be stirred! Shaken means placing ice in the shaker and giving it a vigorous once over.

Stirring involves just that, stirring the alcohol around in the glass until it is chilled. It results in a smoother, clearer martini as the ice hasn’t been broken up in the drink like it would if it was shaken.

What to serve – and when

What’s the most commonly requested cocktail at Della Hyde?

Probably the negroni or the mojito, and for bartenders, the daiquiri.

What would you recommend for drinking before a meal?

Della Hyde’s Count Negroni – cold drip infused gin, orange bitter liqueur and Dolin Rouge (vermouth) stirred down. This is perfect before a meal as it clears the palate.

What would you serve during a meal?

Wine. I normally wouldn’t drink cocktails during a meal. But if you were that way inclined, go for something light and neutral – like a Tom Collins.
A tip, though; never have more than one cocktail with dinner as it can ruin the meal.

And what would you serve to finish the meal?

Our salted caramel espresso martini – it’s practically dessert in liquid form.

Entertaining for crowds

What’s a good cocktail to serve if you’re having friends over?

Margaritas! Great for girls and boys, we call that a uni-sexual cocktail. At Della Hyde, try Tommy’s Margarita – double shot tequila, agave and lime. Simple ‘n delicious.

What’s a good cocktail to prepare a large amount of (eg. a big jug or bowl for a party)?

The simpler the better: daiquiri or margarita. The classics are the best, that’s why they’re called classics.

A bartender’s secrets

What are some ideal pairings?

Rum ‘n lime! My current favourite at the minute is trying to put something sweet with something typically savoury, like mango and basil or pineapple and chilli!

What are your tips for getting a perfectly frothed egg white?

Using them guns! Give those eggys something to cry about when you shake. Dry shake (without ice) first followed by wet shake.

Tips for beginners

If you’re setting up a liquor cabinet, what would you recommend as the basics?

Pick your favourite from the spirit categories; vodka, gin, rum, tequila and whiskey. That way you please everyone. And don’t forget your liqueurs! I’d recommend Cointreau, Vermouth, Aperol and Tia Maria (for a sweet option).

What are the basic tools you would need?

A cocktail shaker and stirrer are a must, as is ice. It’s also worth investing in a measuring jigger. If you want to get really fancy, look into buying a Perlini; it’s a wonderful tool that carbonates your cocktail – spirits and all!

You can be identified with your ears

The outer and most visible part of your ear can be used to identify you because it is unique to each individual, thereby making it a good means of personal identification. Although thumbprints and DNA are the more preferred options, the fact that former gets worn out over time and the latter is quite invasive has made using the ears as a means of ID become increasingly more popular. The shape of the ear is easy to map with computer software and it rarely changes over a person’s lifetime. Current technology can correctly identify an individual ear about 99.6% of the time.

Coffee drinkers live longer than non-coffee drinkers

Many studies have shown that people who drink coffee tend to live longer than people who don’t. Although scientists are yet to figure out what causes this bizarre benefit, research shows it exists. The benefit exists whether you drink caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee.

Laughter can kill you

As bizarre as this sounds, there are many people who have gone down in history as people who died from laughter (probably had one too many LMAOs). Laughing itself isn’t deadly, in fact, the saying that “Laughter is the best medicine” still stands, however, a laughing fit can place undue stress on the heart and lungs, which can lead to a heart attack or asphyxiation especially in a person that is seriously ill. It is a very rare phenomenon, so the health benefits of laughing far outweigh the risks

Children Can Learn Between 4000 – 12000 Words Each Year From Reading Books

One study showed that children can learn up to 12,000 words per year from reading books alone. The average child will pick up around 2000-3000 words per year from their normal education. This amount increases dramatically if the child reads independently, even for as little as ten minutes per day.

The More Creative You Are, The Longer You Live

A study has shown that being creative is actually linked with living a long life. In fact, the study shows that the more creative the person, the lower their risk of death. Many scientists are of the school of thought that it’s because creative people tend to use their brain more through creative thinking, thereby keeping the brain healthy.

Plants Help Humans Increase Concentration and Creativity

Many studies have shown that people who are working or studying will have increased levels of concentration when they can see plants from their desks. This seems to be related to another finding, that concentration can be improved by exposure to natural environments. One theory to explain this might be that people take unconscious micro-breaks to look at the plants and inadvertently refresh their ability to concentrate on other tasks.

Only 2% Of The World’s Population Have Green Eyes

Green eyes are considered to be one of the rarest eye colours in the world. This eye colour is very common in people with North and Central European descent, and a few others from the Middle East and Asia. While eye colour was once thought to be controlled by only one or two genes, scientists now believe up to 12 genes influence eye colour. This can make it difficult to accurately predict what eye colours people might inherit from their parents.

Davido recently covered The Native Magazine, where he spoke to Toye Sokunbi about a variety of things, including his career, past beef with Wizkid and future plans. There are some takeaways from this interview about the events that have taken place and will take place in the life of David Adeleke.

Davido spoke about his beef with Wizkid and stated the reason for their reconciliation. “It just got to a point where we just thought, this shit is getting old. I mean, it got physical between our camps. We just wanted to make the relationship mutual. He has three kids, I have two kids. I’ve travelled a lot, I have experienced so much more in life, I have two artists that are doing well. Like, this shit is old bro, we’re not getting any younger.” In light of this, their never ending comparison which still thrives was able rapidly reduced.

He also talked about making music with Sony and how their strategies didn’t fit as the music they wanted him to make was not what he wanted to make. He said, “I knew myself. I was like, ‘this is not Davido’. My career has always been on fire at all times, [‘till then] there was never a time that I didn’t have a hit out, and that time I didn’t have a hit. So I called Sony up, and I told them look, you have to let me do what I want to do. That’s what inspired Back to Basics.”

He also talked about his Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) status and how people always made it seem like everything he achieved was because of his father’s wealth. He said it made things harder for him. “They always have this feeling that like…[because] your daddy has money… “they” would attribute every ounce of success to that fact, if they could. “In my head, I’m like, I didn’t choose my Dad, I am his son. I came into the world like anyone else.”

On rumours that his friend Tagbo died of alcohol poisoning, and that he had a hand in it, the international superstar commented,

“They were trying to put me in jail for ten years. Like it wasn’t a joke” Davido calmly tells me. “At the end of the day, the CP (Commissioner of Police) was doing his job, but I guess there were some things they could’ve handled more professionally. Because of who I was, I felt like they were trying to make a story out of nothing and to be honest, I did nothing.”

David plans to retire when he’s 30. “I am 25 now, and I have a five-year plan.” He says. “By the time I am 30, I don’t want to be actively doing music anymore”. The If singer plans to build a legacy. While working on growth, Davido is soon to reach the peak of his fulfillment.

Treat Acne & Other Skin Conditions With Banana Peels!

Adult acne is a nasty thing. Just when you thought you’d put those awkward teenage years behind you, you wake up one morning in your mid to late twenties, and there it is: a ginormous, inflamed, middle school-esque pimple staring back at you from your forehead…or your nose…or your chin… Or all of the above – ewww…

Whether you’ve done your time with teenage acne or not, seeing it again during your adult years is not fun – and I’m speaking from personal experience! I’ve tried everything, from pills, to creams, to Proactiv-type products. Nothing worked, at least not for long. Fortunately for me, the problem fixed itself on its own and I now only battle the random breakout here and there.

treat acne and skin conditions with banana peels

My younger cousin is now going through the same thing, so for the past few months, I’ve made it my mission to find something that would help her. I didn’t want her to go down the same path as I did with pills, creams, etc. Now that I have this blog, I knew it was my duty to help her find a natural, chemical-free alternative to the steroid-laden pills and creams that are prescribed at the conventional dermatologist’s office.

treat acne and skin conditions with banana peels

Lo and behold, this link about using banana peels randomly crossed my path one night, and I sent it to my cousin and never thought about it again. A few weeks later, on our visit down to Florida, I noticed her skin looked much better and her acne scars were starting to fade. Imagine my surprise when she told me she’d been using the banana peels trick and loved it!

She even jokingly informed me that she’s become the “banana-nazi” so to speak, making sure no one throws away banana peels in her presence LOL 🙂

The steps are very simple:

Take a small piece of banana peel and rub it on the affected area for a few minutes until the inside of the peel turns brown.
As it dries, your skin will absorb the vitamins and nutrients in the peel. I leave it on for about 30 mins. and then wash it off with warm water. At night, I just leave it on overnight, then wash off in the morning.
Do this 3 times a day, and in a few days, you’ll notice results!
treat acne and skin conditions with banana peels

Even if you don’t have actual pimples on your skin, this trick can also help reduce acne scars from old breakouts. That’s where I come in: I used this on some old scars around my chin and jaw line and really noticed results within a couple days!

I’m not brave enough to share before/after pictures for the world to see, but the original poster graciously did this for us in her follow-up post. Just seeing those pictures was reason enough for me to try it and to send the link to my cousin!

If you’re looking to do away with commercial products and harsh chemicals on your skin, I urge you to give this a try. It’s totally worth a shot: what’s the worst that can happen – you get some banana on your face for a couple days? Totally worth the risk 🙂

So Why Does This Work?

Banana peels are chock-full of antioxidants, including lutein, which may help protect the skin against sun damage. They also contain esterified fatty acids, which have actually been isolated and incorporated into a patented lotion (Exorex lotion) used to treat eczema and psoriasis!

Some extra notes and other uses

Banana peels can also be used to treat warts as well! Just tape a piece of the peel to cover the wart, leave on overnight, and remove in the morning. Continue with nightly treatments until wart is gone.
To stop the itch from bug bites and poison ivy, rub banana peels on the affected area – no more itching!
Banana peels may also help with hemorrhoids because of the sugar content, which helps them shrink.
Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by rubbing banana peels on your skin, which helps to tighten and tone the skin.
Psoriasis sufferers may also find relief by rubbing banana peels on the affected areas, and may see results within a few days or weeks.
Banana peels contain lots of potassium, and the antioxidant, lutein.
Use ripe banana peels, to ensure the best results! And make sure they’re fresh; you don’t want to use an old peel that’s been lying on the counter for a few hours. (So yes, you may have to recruit some scheduled banana eaters for you 😉
How To Save the Banana Peels

There’s been lots of questions and ideas regarding how to save the peel to use it for subsequent treatments, so you’re not eating several bananas per day. And a reader (Hi Alison!) was kind enough to share her technique, which works great:

I’ve fine tuned my technique to cutting a portion of the skin from the banana at a time- just a shallow incision around a section big enough to do my face with, then peel off and use. That way it all stays in tact and 1 banana can go 1 or 2 days depending on size. The fruit gets exposed to the air but still good in a smoothie at the end on the day!

6 Signs You Are Going To Be Successful

Successful people are not so different as you think. There are a lot of patterns successful people have in common. Studying those by reading biographies, I have come up with six main points a lot of successful entrepreneurs have in common. If you find some points fitting to your personality, you are on the right track.

Here are six signs you are going to be successful:

1) You Love The Competition

We are comparing us to each other constantly. Some are satisfied faster than others and then there are people who can’t get enough. The most successful people are those who never stop competing! Athletes, businessmen, authors etc. Only the strongest, fastest, smartest will make it to the top! Successful entrepreneurs will always think about the next steps to outcompete the others. In a world that is dominated by capitalism, it is all about competition.

2) Don’t Start What You Can’t Finish

Successful businessmen finish what they’ve started. There is no satisfaction in giving up. The reason why people become successful is that they didn’t give up when others did. This goes hand in hand with the first point because a huge part of the competition gives up on the way to the top. You just have to be consistent long enough until you are the last man standing. Do you finish the books you’ve started to read? Do you work until you reach your goals? If the answer is yes, you are on the right way.

3) Surrounded By The Strongest

Since successful people are always looking for an opportunity to grow and improve themselves, they surround themselves with more successful people to learn from them. They observe their patterns, ask questions about their decisions and follow their philosophy.

4) Credibility Through Social Proof

Additionally to the third point, social proof from other successful people is essential! By hanging out with inspirational people and getting to know them you’ll start to grow a reputation amongst them. This will open new opportunities, which grow into an upwards spiral. Successful people know how they can build a great reputation and how to use this to build an even stronger social proof. (see more at How to leave an impression that stays )

5) You Never Stop Thinking

Being successful isn’t a 9 to 5 job. Your mind doesn’t stop when you leave the office. If there is a problem, you will look for a solution while you are jogging through the park. Your mind is always filled with questions, options, and different solutions or ways to handle your business. This can be only achieved when you work for something you are passionate about. Otherwise, your mind will stop working as soon as the clock hits 5 o’clock.

6) You Have To Have It

When you listen to successful entrepreneurs like Mark Cuban, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates etc. there is always a dream behind it. There is always a greater cause. It doesn’t matter if it is a technical revolution, a Lamborghini or a new mansion. The motivation isn’t relevant as long as it is consistent until it’s reached. Successful people have to get what they want and they will find creative ways to get it!

Personally, I find those six points to be very difficult to achieve. It is easy to identify yourself with 2-3 points but that won’t be enough. On the other hand, it is not important to dominate all six points. But the more, the better. By writing this article I found that I have a huge potential for improvement. But this is good! It is always great to know where you have to put in the work to improve personally.

Try it out for yourself! Which points are fitting your personality and which points are potential goals for yourself?

Kendall jenner says it’s “weird” Kylie had a baby first, reveals why sister got “mad” at Hailey Baldwin

Kendall jenner says it

Kendall Jenner has reacted to her younger sister Kylie Jenner having a baby before her. She also opened up about how model Hailey Baldwin once came between her and Kylie.

Opening up with Lana Del Rey for the new issue of Elle magazine, Kendall said of Kylie’s pregnancy and childbirth:

It’s obviously a bit weird that your little sister is having a baby before you. I didn’t expect it to happen like this. But it’s beautiful.

Kendall jenner says it

Kendall added that Stormi’s birth has made their relationship stronger.

It’s brought us closer together. We’ve always been very close, but we would butt heads all the time. This has made her a bit more loving toward me.

Kendall also explained why she and Kylie once fought over their relationships with Hailey Baldwin, 21.

She was actually best friends with Kylie, and I was good friends with her cousin Ireland. Hailey lived in New York, and whenever we were there, we would hang out with her.

Kendall jenner says it

Kendall added that she “stole Hailey from Kylie” when the two attended New York Fashion Week together.

From then on, she was my homie. At first, Kylie was mad; I had to bring them back together and be like, ‘No, it’s okay, guys.’ But it’s all good; that’s our love story.

Kendall also revealed that she’s easily frustrated with those who can’t do without looking at their phones.

Kendall jenner says it

She said:

It’s an addiction. I’ll be at dinner with my good friends, and I’ll look at someone on their phone. They’re not texting someone, which I could accept. Maybe they’re talking about something important, or figuring out an email? No, they’re on Instagram and Twitter.

It really does irk me. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, you don’t need to see what everyone else is doing! It’s not like you’re sitting in bed right now.’ I strive to not be that person—to not live my life on my phone.
